  • That lifetime deal is yummy. :)

Can I mount storage using rclone? Pardon if already asked.

Not yet. Full WebDAV support for storage is something SmarterMail is working on though.

Can we also use this as an SMTP relay (so for e.g., relay cron/system emails from a VPS into a mailbox, either hosted at CraneMail or elsewhere)?

If there are no outbound mails (i.e. only notification to a CraneMail account), is it OK if that 300/hour is exceeded (something going wrong and you get a burst of error notification emails etc.).

If the inbox is hosted at CraneMail then it's not a sending issue at all, since it stays on the same node. The limit is for external emails that hit the outbound relays.

You can definitely use it for that (create mailbox -> plug in the SMTP details elsewhere) - but it's not really meant to be a transactional mail service.

  • Grabbed one, 100GB is huge!

    Got it.

Good to know - just makes life easier to not have to deal with yet another relay elsewhere if you're anyway using it for emails.

I assume that if the sender is [email protected] and recipient is [email protected] and the email is sent via SMTP relay (from a VPS cron job), a copy of the sent email is also available on sender1's "sent-email" folder?

    Thank you!

I.. honestly don't know the answer to that at this moment. Maybe ask it in our Discord, one of the beta testers probably tried it.

You can enable the Email Archiving feature though for all outbound mail from a certain address, and that would definitely store a copy separately for whatever period you set.

  • Can I use this like addy.io so I get automatic alias forwarding to some default inbox? Can I also do it without having to create the alias manually?

i.e. If I was signing up to Netflix, I could just sign up using [email protected] and automatically receive the emails to some inbox without having to mess with the dashboard.

  • I want to know if the price of CraneMail BF 100G - $10/year, $20/3 years will remain the same or increase when I renew my subscription in the future.

That price is recurring, so you'll renew at the same in 1/2/3 years depending on which billing term you pick.

  • Hosting thread wen sir 😁

  • already have a triannual plan from mxroute from last year i think, but grabbing the lifetime here as well, especially after seeing frantech have your back...i've been off and on buyvm for what feels like forever

  • $3/3 years for smaller storage?

We'd make $0 after fees. I think our offer is pretty fair here.

Not yet. We've hired someone (since my golang skills are still amateur) to work on it. We'd love to submit it to rclone for official inclusion, that way it works for other companies as well.

I’ve been involved in the hosting industry for nearly 20 years at this point.

Namecrane and its lifetime deals are fully backed by my reputation and the BuyVM warchest.

Namecrane is extremely well funded and will also be investing 100% of all gross revenue from lifetime accounts into ETF’s or MMF’s, generating continuous funding to cover operating costs. We own all of the hardware in use and operate our own mail relays, allowing us to keep our costs well in check and within control.

We've been here for a long freaking time. We'll continue to be here for a long freakin' time.

    Enjoy.

    Francisco

    Great strategy for lifetime product!

  • Is it possible to use with third-party email client?

  • @Francisco -- pardon a dummy question. what does this mean? Looking at 100G service -- "Up to 10 Primary Domains"

Let's say we have business01.com thru business15.com -- does this mean that 11th business domain onwards -- we won't be able to use this service?

    For e.g. [email protected]

I think that's the correct understanding here... you can only add 10 domains and send email from there..

NameCrane is extremely well funded by Cloudzy because he sold BuyVM lmao. That boy gets about 250k payment every month as long as BuyVM is still running, why do you think he doesn't promote it anymore? Scumbag.

Correct. Domain aliases don't count against this. An alias is like:

company.com & company.us point to the exact same accounts, and isn't split.

Realistically the domain limit is pretty roomy, especially with the file storage.

It's not a concept at all, it's been a done deal for a very long time.

I live in a one-party consent state, should I drop the FEDcisco files @Francisco?

I'm trying to figure out if I should take this seriously. Does this imply that buyvm is a risk as an enduser/customer or business as usual? I trusted it under Fran and wasn't aware that this was a done deal. Is it no longer trustworthy as a provider?

I'd have to test it more. We don't have Active Sync in place, we'd have to pay per inbox.

'instant email arrival' is there via IMAP IDLE as well as EWS/MAPI support.

To be clear: Cloudzy owns BuyVM and FEDcisco sold your data.
