    Hi,

simply take more space like 5 TB for 5-6 EUR and things will be more possible....

    150-200GB SSD VPS for 30 dollars/y?

    Hi,

sorry, simply too uninteresting to sacrifice an IPv4 address for 30 USD / year.

What would be your cheapest deal?

    Hi,

    2x AMD Epyc Core
    8 GB RAM
    240 GB NVMe ( 250 MB/s , 10k IOPS )
    1x IPv4 / IPv6
    1G incl. 50 TB Traffic

Price per year: 39,- EUR without VAT

    Location: Germany or France

It does not matter if you take less cores/ram. This 39 EUR is the absolute minimum we need for an IPv4 address and i just gave you as much as possible for this money.

    Nonetheless an awesome deal indeed.

Yeah, check these out if they're still in stock https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/199983/ultravps-black-friday-2024-25th-anniversary-special-offers/p1

    25Y-Storage-1

    BHYVE virtualization
    1 CPU core (Intel CPU)
    1 GB RAM
    1.5 TB Disk Space
    5 TB Monthly Transfer (in+out)
    1 IPv4 address
    10 IPv6 addresses (from your own /64 IPv6 subnet)
    Contract term: 3 months
Available in Duesseldorf (Germany) and Amsterdam (Netherlands)
3.33 EUR per month incl. 19% VAT (~ **2.94 USD** excl. VAT)

And it does come with 10gb NVMe storage for OS

That is pretty nice price for 1.5TB storage

How do you know it has a 10 GB boot disk? It’s not listed.

Why's that and which one would you recommend?

Without a (fast) boot disk for the OS, your HDD disk will have a lot of random IO's slowing down the whole box.

    +1 for @layer7
    Highly recommended

BF deal that works out to $2/m (for 1TB) or less (or closest possible)?

    @PineappleM said:
Same but annual billing and 1 or 2 TB

You guys ask for too much.

I haven't seen anything below $2.42. And that's a limited BF offer (overall quantity and per client).

Hopefully you saw the deal for $2.94/month for 1.5TB storage vps that includes 10gb NVMe for OS as well.

    Hi,

i can keep up the offer for a while, no problem.

Just wait for the black friday / cyber monday / deadly tuesday / what ever wednesday and so on and check if you can find something better.

    If yes, take it.

If not, just let me know. I will feel myself bound to this offer for the coming 2 weeks. So you should have enough time to check if there is really nothing better around the corner.

    Good luck!

I won't recommend any storage vps without having 20gb NVMe for OS

While I would recommend one. And?

I'm actually using one myself for two years already. From this very provider, zero complaints.

Been voting for them in the top provider polls - recheck the old threads if you doubt.

    That's why I recommend them.

As above, all this is too much for a thread with a $2/month for 1 TB and then for 2 TB (!!) request.
And you also add NVMe, not even an SSD.

Yes, I also wouldn't mind having one, but I understand I can't at this price.

If we mean personal storage, not business purposes, where NVMe might be handy, then I'm unsure why SSD is absolutely crucial.

You want to run something heavy like NextCloud? Raise the budget.
You're going to restore the same backup multiple times in a row (and believe caching would help)?

    P.S.
For NVMe you can get e.g. 250 GB disk, but that's $44/year, not $24.
There are multiple other offers, smaller and bigger, I posted one matching the request.

    P.P.S.

Hopefully you saw the deal for $2.94/month for 1.5TB storage vps that includes 10gb NVMe for OS as well.

No, I didn't. So there's one better offer. Thanks for posting it.

@layer7 already mentioned the reason, why it is crucial for having a small NVMe for OS

Without a (fast) boot disk for the OS, your HDD disk will have a lot of random IO's slowing down the whole box.

    slowing down the whole box

My request was $2/mo/TB not 2 TB for $2/mo (which is ridiculous). Sorry if that wasn’t clear.

Here is 2 TB storage vps that includes 10gb NVMe for OS

And there is no annual commitment either

Your disk will have a lot of IO operations because of what?
Which apps exactly will generate them?

Here's CPU usage graph for my storage VPS for the last week:
    Servarica: CPU usage (Xen)

That's a real life load for a personal backup storage.

First, that quote from a hosting provider @layer7 , not me. He certainly knows what he is taking about.

When the OS is running on an HDD:

    • Boot times are longer because critical system files and libraries may be scattered across the disk.
    • Memory paging (swapping) to the disk is slower, which can severely impact performance under memory-intensive workloads.
    • Applications that rely heavily on small, random reads/writes (e.g., databases, event logging services) will experience latency, creating a system-wide slowdown.

I can explain more in detail. Just let me know.

  • Which one it is.Can you share details links/offers
