Does netCup allow transferring the server between locations?

    No

(I've never tried, but I'm 99,99% certain that they don't allow this)

    WRONG Thread. Aargh.

  • Anyone with ID verification already got their VM? (New user)

Or will it just take a week or so? (I don't wanna bother Support with it if they are so busy)

    Can you share your yabs?

  • Guys @shaikhmanal @egoror @Falzo @xvps @dev_vps did you use webtropia VPS (with SSD not)? what can said about them?

  • don't rely on yabs for the location. this is just based on geo-location for the IP.

if you see a ping to 152.53.108.255 being less then 1ms, then your box is in Vienna. if it is around 9-10ms, then you are in Nuremberg

Yabs is 90% of the times for disk speed and benchmark score than ping(does it really have a ping??).

yes. they are okayish for the money, especially considering 20% sales and additional discount on longer periods. but that is just according to my expections.

they have an IOps limit of 5k read / 5k write on the disk, which eventually can be lifted by a support request.
cpu performance is mediocre, single core was something around 500-700 if I remember correctly
lately they migrated especially the smaller boxes to a new cluster with newer hardware, so this could have changed.

the backup addon is cheap though, 4 full and 24 inkrements, automated for each day at < 3€ per month is quite useful and cheap.
also can't remember any bigger downtimes at all...

Just ping that ip - Mine is showing geo ip Vienna - but i'm getting 9.5ms ping so I'm in Nuremberg as expected (I ordered Nuremberg)

Lots of yabs running or what. That score looks low, comparing to my 1k+ and 3k+ scores in Nuremberg

  • Anyone recently registered a new account on netcup? Did they ask for your id or can you verify by pre-paying $20 or something (read that on an old thread)?

  • Everything is out of stock, is it coming back on BF or CM?

  • @network said:

They gave me two options. I miss clicked, and now I had to do ID verification instead of payment... Which they didn't do yet (I understand that they are probably busy, but I want my serverrrrrr lol).

So there is still an option, and I regret that I didn't choose it.

Never ever trust ANY GEO IP information. Most geo ip databases are slow in terms of getting updated.

I think all offers are with a recurring price, but at the product page in the control panel there a is contract details tab.
