  • @MiniVZ

  • @MiniVz : which cryptocoin ?

  • Everyone is buying servers to mine primecoin, it's the new trend ;)

All the cheap dual cpu servers are sold out.... at least for the next couple of months till the difficulty is high... then the cancellations will rain

  • @jonnathon - do you really think there is sufficient money in this to make it interesting?

  • @MarkTurner with the dual xeon cpu, you can make around 1.2 xpm/day, which is $4 a day with the current difficulty, that's around $120 a month.

ofc u could make a bit more or less in a single day, depending on your luck, but the average is $4/day

Primecoin difficulty been rising fast lately, soon it will be high enough, and all those servers will stop making profit, and will be cancelled... I feel sorry for the companies that are ordering more of those servers, the hype will most probably only last few months.

I was reading on wht, that some companies were getting 50 dedi server orders per person and are unable to keep up with the orders... just imagine what will happen when the difficulty rise... hundreds of servers will be cancelled all at once...

  • @jonnathon - LOL, I can that will be an interesting situation for companies speculating on long term contracts to cover their server cost. We have a pile of L5639 servers which we withdrew due to disk performance issues; I will see if I can get some and give it a test. I doubt disk performance is that major part of the issue.

  • Short term investment lol?

Thing with all cryptocurrencies, they are pretty much clones of each other. When people lose interest, difficulty will for mining will go down. Sooner or later the people mining the coins are either using highly specialized equipment (ASICS for bitcoin) or botnet owners using unsuspecting PCs. They are all interesting and pretty easy to gain profit, much easier than normal forex trading.

  • There are so many cryptocurrencies coming up after bitcoin. Primecoin is just one of them and you can switch from one coin to another coin anytime, anyday. You can even mine different coins at the same time...

  • Dual Xeon 5520 is back in stock @ $55/mo
