Well, I could always have AE stuff shipped to my friend in the US and have him bring it here. I only need those microcontrollers and small boards. So, they will be easy to carry as well.

    Imagine paying double tax πŸ˜‚

Rather just letit go to waste.

    πŸ˜‚ Waste what 🀣

    Waste something.

But what something doesn't make sense to waste it

Also, this si the website I was talking about - https://keychron.in/

Any 1st impressions, given I have no idea about mech keyboards?

Thats costly and doesn't convince me to buy one tbh, i mean i could assemble one by myself but what i looking is a truly portable one with battery and all.

Thanks. Wanted to support a local brand, if I do ever get a mech keyboard. Guess too soon for that.

There are many local brands, i personally typing these comments on a TVSe gold, a fully homegrown OEM but they stopped producing cherry mx keyboards and switched to outemu blue(the one i have) and i really don't know why they had to do it, maybe the profitability was a miss but outemu can't compare with my xpg cherry mx.

Been hearing that name again and again. Didn't know they were Indian. But, those terms, I am unaware of them. Will see what the difference is between Cherry MX and Outemu.

    Nothing you probably can't tell

I probably can't as a person who hasn't even seen a mech KB yet.

The difference is reliability and experience on typing, if you are upgrading from any membrane keyboard you won't notice anything, but if you have more switches to try out, cherry mx will be on top for those reasons.

Oh I see. Once I am free, I will research this. Seems like an interesting topic.

Also, are you even able to buy from AliExpress now? It was blocked a while ago and I just checked. the block's still in place. Re-shipping from China beats the purpose of cheap products.

Yes it is easy just contact seller

Contact seller he will give a custom quote for shipping to india and the parcel is detained by customs :joy:

LOL! Could they detain just for the reason that its from China?

Always, even before the ban, the parcels detaining and needing more "details" is common.

🀣 Funny how they want more details but won't provide details themselves

Why would they provide details to common people? they are the officers and flexing themselves.

    Superiority complex hmmmmmm 😭

    Or, inferiority complex maybe.

    I am sure it's fromer 😭

    Aah, the mispelling. Mamma mia!

Owk. Been a Logitech fan or some years now. But, their mech KBs are extremely overpriced.

Overpriced and you can't find switches in after market. Capitalistic mindset right there.

Sure i believe you can find cherry mx keyboard for around 3-4k depending on your locality and availability and the experience will be amazing.

Are they sturdier than membrane KBs. Will this investment last me a decade or so?

Well what you will get is typing experience and they will last for about 8-10 years for sure(atleast in my case they do)

Cherry mx is really good my next bet is usually with gateron and logitech GL.

Owk. Been a Logitech fan or some years now. But, their mech KBs are extremely overpriced.

Overpriced and you can't find switches in after market. Capitalistic mindset right there.

    Unreliable also 😌πŸ˜ͺ

Not true i am still using my g402 hyperion mice since 2017 and it's still going great.

See. EVen DUstin and I were talking about the reliability of Logitechs. The biggest achievement of my wireless combos is that it survived NY2024.

Thanks a lot. I guess I should invest in a mech KB. Not that I don't like the typing experience on my current KB, but, since you seem to know this stuff in detail, and since my job involves a lot of typing, it'd be a good investment.

  • BTW, @TrK have you jailbroken your iPad?

  • Anybody else up for a chat and to keep the party alive?
