I'm a bit tempted to try IncogNET for a few domains, but how do they handle dmca? Enforce I guess?
Great, no need to worried unless you attract it like a good smelling shit does to flies
@MannDude feel free to DM me if you need any help with anycast or auth DNS. Rage4 has long tradition of supporting privacy, open source and education.
Keep your hands to yourself, freak!
But seriously, great to see all the updates.
DMCA complaints are mainly directed towards your hosting provider than domain registrar in my experience. With that said, I don't think any of our upstream registrars have ever suspended a domain for DMCA (Namecheap or InternetBS) nor have we.
Though for websites that are going to attract non-stop complaints, there are better providers than us. It's not our niche and not something we want to deal with in most cases.
I'm actually reevaluating it now. I'd be possibly interested in BYOIP, when it's ready, but will see if your existing anycast product will help simplify what I've been trying to do manually.
Also happy to test the BYOIP setup, should you want it...
@yoursunny They aren't in there anymore!
@MannDude Allentown looking glass links to @crunchbits PeeringDB.
Interconnection Facilities section lists TierPoint Allentown-TekPark.
Thus, at least the network connection is in this building.
Wrong
Gimme the exact address and I'll see if I can pass through in next two days.

How's my favorite new email service coming?
MannDude's got a lot on his plate. All for the better, of course.
I've not done much work on it as of late, to be honest. Been busy. Right now we're focusing on getting our KC POP up to production standards as well as playing catch up on support. Plus I'm just exhausted
For MyPrivateInbox, there will be (hopefully) a limited release in the next 30-60 days. Maybe 10-15 sign ups max. That'll allow us to get some idea of small production use of the service and then after a while of that, can release it publicly.
Still need to do some more testing, some more purposefully breakage of stuff so I can fix it and run through some other random scenarios that may come up and develop reasonable policies, expectations, etc.
SUPER excited!
Damn??? 30-60 days is still way faster than I was expecting. Looking forward to it.
Sooo @MannDude what's the reason you stopped offering new VPSes in Finland?
Random updates:
Bunch of new odds and ins has arrived in Kansas City in preparation of some upcoming maintenance that will bring things up to production standard. Very exciting stuff. Will be sending out some new servers afterwards, as well. As with all of our VPS nodes and locations, we use Epyc based hardware and we hope to have some VPS offerings available by the end of the year or first week of January at the latest.
New stock in PA... sometime soon? I hope.
Been busy with some other stuff so updates and progress on projects have been a bit slow but should be catching back up soon!
Well, I say 30-60 days now. Ask me again in 30-60 days, haha.
Was using Hetzner at the time, this was back in 2020 and early 2021 I do believe. There was at least one price increase we absorbed, then a much higher price for additional IPs that came later. Do we still mention Finland somewhere on our website that I've missed?
Also, @ChrisMiller found his IncogNET sticker!
Nope, I was just looking through old posts here. I’m not really a fan of Hetzner, especially after their stunt today, so good riddance.
Also, I’m looking forward to some Kansas City servers.
We'll be doing maintenance in Kansas City starting here in about 5 minutes. Impacted individuals were emailed yesterday.
Should be an hour or so, hopefully not much longer.
Scope of the maintenance is re-cabling the cab so it makes sense, updating firmware on the network hardware, fixing IPMI for all dedicated server customers, updating some network specific configurations and getting things in order to accommodate some future growth.
Got new hardware on the way for Epyc VPS hosting too. Should arrive within the next week.
Any storage VPS or dedicated deals in the works?
Storage VPS, no. It'll be our standard AMD Epyc KVM VPS plans as shown on our site.
Dedicated deals? Perhaps. Have a bit of available blade stock now.
As far as storage goes, we're working on some new hardware builds as we plan to launch a hosted Nextcloud service in Kansas City and in the Netherlands. While it's not a storage VM, it is a storage related product.
Kansas City updates:
Still to do: Still need to get filtering in place. Not sure we ever actually had it... Was told we did, but much of the network related items weren't functioning properly that we were paying for. Need to reach out to a few mitigation providers and get something setup. Any suggestions? I'll reach out to Cosmic again, I just hate doing phonecalls for sales as I can't reference features, promises or the discussion easily later if I need to. That alone has me interested in seeking alternatives that'll communicate sales needs via email or chat.
Should have Epyc VMs soon! Hardware is on the way.
Should be growing into KC and doing all the things I planned for this location 14 months ago that kept getting pushed back and delayed...
Hired @heartbeat_IT for contract network work and experienced the most competent, professional and quality work we've seen. Should have done this ages ago! 10/10
Actually, huge shoutout to @AaronW and his team at NOCIX for being top notch. Many random bits and pieces were delivered to the DC over the last week or so, lot of communication in tickets. His team always responded fast. We scheduled cab recabling at 3AM their local time and at 3AM they proceeded without a hitch. Budget Colo but premium staff. Quite impressive.
Does IncogNET offer any limited, free shared web hosting or mail hosting with domain name registrations?
Not anymore. We used to offer what was basically a stripped down shared hosting account with domain purchases, only for the purpose of giving customers access to our shared hosting DNS cluster after realizing that domain buyers don't use 3rd party DNS hosting very frequently and expected DNS hosting to come with their domain.
Now that we've built out a proper DNS cluster that is specific only to the domain product, we no longer do the shared hosting workaround.
For email, we're still working on MyPrivateInbox - But I've been busy with other stuff (KC, website updates, some internal refinements, etc).
Nice progress, can't wait for MyPrivateInbox!.
I've seen some mention of IncogNET on HN, didn't know you were active here.
What's the planned price for MyPrivateInbox?
I'm also looking forward to MPI. It may replace Tuta for me, depending on the annual pricing.
@MannDude can you clarify what you meant when you said "pretty much sold out" here? All six BF order links still work.
