Virmache. XD
It was perfect for test environment. Where should I move them to?
Personally im staying away from crunchbits
Wholly agree with all of what you said, but one thing to point out: people who actually follow what was written will figure it out and the rest will knee-jerk reaction and that is likely self-solving our issues in a roundabout manner. I'm sure it will eventually leak. There is a very clear and detailed plan, however it encompasses a few varying products/specs and requires a decision by the customer which path they want to take so they have to open a ticket--or do nothing and use the service until the term ends. Aside from that, the e-mail was originally queued to go out later today while I cemented procedure internally but my hand was forced early.
A significant portion of the problems absolutely originate outside of the LET/S direct communities. I'm not sure how they go about solving it, but when you try to do something for the community, you want people here that contribute/post/laugh to be involved. I genuinely extremely enjoyed the meme auction threads and party-like atmosphere in the previous BF/sales threads. Unfortunately, the deals posted here go much further and much wider (within mere seconds) than the intended audience. It's just not easy to "stop" or "separate" unless you do 1 of 2 things:
I'm attempting a third option, we'll see how it goes. I can already tell you the amount of people jumping to conclusions without actually attempting what we outlined in the official message tells me that we'll probably solve our main concerns/problems localized to this product. I know I'll take a reputation hit now, but that's fine.
Ticket
Yes there is, see above.
It's definitely true to how I think. Keeping in mind that I wanted these deals to be for actual members, that are actually in our target markets or at least in the periphery of them. Selling 47 promo yearlies to the same ns scripter who somehow has 47 different VPNs, e-mails passing verification, etc that just flips them or decides to mine XYZcoin isn't the same thing.
It may just be we tipped the scale a little too much in the direction of price/hardware for the bad actors to leap head-first, repeatedly. It's fine, all of the legitimate users that want to will be staying. It just was not sustainable (workload/mental) and until we have a much better mechanism for getting real offers into the hands of actual forum members I felt this was the fairest way to bring it back in-line and within scope.
RIP
so sad 🥲
Awesome, thanks for info!
Pretty much unfortunate event we have cause people on somewhere trying "abuse" cheap service to level affect other people and also for people send dead threat on ticket, you pesky behaviour cause "this is why we cant have nice things"
I just to make sure still have right as email mention and not doing any wrong which remove my chance to get it, gonna create ticket for moment.
AGREE !
Im considering extending my extension to directly see such data... so next to provider name it can say joined 2024 or whatever
What about personalized coupons, one per forum member. Could even do a 30 day 25 post minimum.
I even have the code for this coupon distribution logic already available...
Sounds bad...
I need think how to use ipv6, prepare for the future!
AND GET @Nekki back ! only he can deal with all mjj !
Sounds like a good idea, coupons.
And maybe can help the hosts by filtering some potential abusive users
So BF isn't cancelled then? Let's try out some new tech for this BF megathread.
What if I tell you this logic has already been used last year but not noticeable
When BF Mega Thread Sir?
Then I would say maybe IT was the reason for all of this happening now and to scrap that logic with extreme prejudice. Or maybe to tweak it and make a run at version 2.0.
BF megathread happens on BF.

@crunchbits so what kind of discounts can we expect on regular vps ? You should just advertise details , I think asking everyone to create ticket to ask will only increase the ticket volume, it's not like you had more than 3 skus pro vps anyways so everyone probably has same config
Aint last year BF MegaThread was start like a week before ?
He's capping obv
It will happen like in few days
This!
I understand the difficulty in targeting deals correctly, but man does it bug me that all the deals only benefits new user. The old users that have been paying their bills without hassle for years are always left out and usually even have to pay a higher price then the new, often abusive, customers.
To keep with the topic of the thread for example, I've had a crunchbit vps for a couple of years that has a load avg below 0.04, I've never opened a ticket, never received any abuse and my bills are always paid ahead of time. I'd like to imagine I'm a good customer, but now I still get booted because other assholes cant behave.
It just does not pay to be a good customer, you gain absolutely nothing from it. In fact, you often have to pay more to get less.
Correct me if I'm missing the logic here, but doesn't that mean it works exactly as intended? If a person gets pissed of by a captcha it is more then likely exactly the type of person a captcha is supposed to deter, hence, not someone you want as a customer.
In my mind the people that get pissed by a captcha are exactly the same people that utilize chargebacks, does not grasp the concept of 'fair use' and will complain loudly when they get punished for breaking every rule in the AUP which they, of course, did not read.
And all the spammers who hijack selling threads with their no ipv6 or u are racist for only allowing usa orders bullshit. There are plenty others too.
Yes the entitlement mentality is out of hand. The providers actually pay $ to post offers for us and the entitld assholes spam their posts with bullshit. Anybody who does should be temp banned to give the providers some protection for their $.
I was sad when I read the mail and went over this post
Though I can say I don't blame you, especially when it threatens your other services. Though I do love that you're letting accounts ride out regardless of how long their service is for instead of saying "you have until X to get a refund or be migrated to a new service."
So I always order "overkill" on the resources that I need. I do this because when getting a deal, it's not that much more $ to do it which will give me plenty of room to grow and if resouce monitoring is done on me, I much prefer to been seen as someone barely using it compared to one always being close to using all of it. I also take pride in rarely opening a ticket. Like from my crunchbits account, I've only opened two which was a reprovisioned to PA and how the system didn't notify me of the outage for the maintenance/move. With that being said, should I still open a ticket @crunchbits to discuss the discount/cost of migrating to a new VPS so I can decide if I should to that or just letting my current service ride out?
P.S.
