My server in the UK is really poor. Using proxmox and the cpu is just 'stopping' for a couple of minutes.
If logged in to the cli via ssh while 'hang', the cli is completely unresponsive.

I am also getting VERY concerned at the dissapearannce of @MassiveGRID - the sale thread just gets longer and longer with no achnowledgements from them.

To me this is looking more and more like a summer host :s

I recommend that you request a full refund. I even had to file a case with PayPal on my second order because I reported this problem and they did not want to refund my money. I reported this problem because they say high availability 24/7, being a lie, it is better to pay more than to a recognized distributor than one that has been lying since the 15th. This is causing problems, that VPS is oversold.

  • None of this could have been predicted from day 1.

Cannot agree entirely with your sarcasm. We've seen more "unsustainable" deals here on LET that are still working without any real issues. Sometimes you have to take a gamble to have real good deals. And personally I had a VPS for a couple of months with MassiveGrid that I was happy with - so I knew what to expect from them.

However, when after a number of days and massive response to the deal they kept on accepting, that was the moment that I started to worry a bit about the real sustainability in the long term.

But we'll see; as mentioned you sometimes need to take a gamble. And one time you win, the other you loose.

    Fair enough.
Thought why take a gamble rather than just go for a slightly more expensive provider which just works? You mean when you lose, you get a refund?

This is LET  . Why trying to do something Low End while you can also do it High End without the trouble...

Well said, it's not worth it, cheap is expensive, very expensive 😢

It is better to maybe pay a few bucks a month for something stable, reliable rather than sign up to a company who had 1 thread here and for a "3 year deal" and hand over just over $20 in a single payment.

Always quite worrying when the first thread is a long term deal, maybe that is a rule that can be added, you need x amount of monthly/quarterly offer threads before you can post these long term deals.

It's not like people on the thread warned customers early on...

  • And they keep selling more and more, imagine how shit their network is with all these sales people are abusing that shit like no tomorrow

Classic, at the start really good vm with fast response to tickets and posts. Now VM is crap/hangs/oversold/steel and no reponse to tickets or posts.
They got in quick prior to Black Friday so people got 'itchy' and jumped. Looks like there will be quite a few paypal disputes incoming.

  • The network in NY is more stable now, i,e, no dropouts (or maybe less frequent since I do not notice it as I don't have monitoring). Anyone still encountering network issues?

Better... but still about 3% packet loss.

  • MASSIVEGRID DOWNTIME HIGH

There were 4 hours 20 minutes of downtime between 2024-11-27 18:46 UTC and 2024-11-28 17:23 UTC.

Today I can log into the box through the console but not my PowerShell. Once inside, I can't ping Google or any outside network.

I only paid for a year and upgraded to a 4-core 8 GB RAM machine with ~110 GB storage.

When it works, it's pretty decent for simple WP, Laravel, and HTML sites. Tried mail server stuff, not awful. But downtime is too much even for my use case, which is only for testing and fidgeting.

I ask support for help, they say they fix it, then it continues to have issues.

Here's my downtime log from a bash script I wrote:

Not here to bash them. If you need a box that is probably running but doesn't need to be communicated with, sure, go for it, but I will be asking for a refund and switching to RackNerd.

Same for me, many hour of downtime today ...

I had many packet lost / short downtime since I am having a VPS there.

Currently running a 2 cpu 6g RAM and 96gb storage.

When it works, nothing to say ! Latency is great for my location and the VPN have enough cpu for my need.

Anybody have updates on their network issue ? I found some info saying that they seems to have Internet Issue

    https://ioda.inetintel.cc.gatech.edu/asn/49683?from=1732933174&until=1733019574

Let's hope it will be fixed soon.

  • it appears to be some sort of dhcp server issue.

I was actively on the machine hours ago when it went down, and their portal was even down. Portal came back up pretty quick but I couldn't ssh to the server. I too logged onto the console from the portal and also couldn't ping google or anything.

I noticed they're using dhcp for IP assignment instead of a static entry. DHCP isn't working at all. My interface had no ip assigned at all. I added my IP as a static entry and added it to the interface and AFAIK it's been up and pretty stable for the last few hours. I posted about it in the other thread, couldn't find this one. https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/comment/4128214/#Comment_4128214

I think their dhcp server took a massive shit and everything's been going down once the lease expires. Try setting your IP as a static on the interface and you should have a lot less problems. IP and gateway if you need them are listed on their portal.
