I join with a skle06 speculation. I think that it will be an EPYC one or a competitor CPU. And SYS-LE line might more expensive than past years one.

But it is a speculation only, I speculated higher prices for current offer too, so hoppe cheaper ones. :D 2x1.92 TB SSD very tempting, hoppe that CPU stronger than e3-1245 v2 but I'm afraid no...

Most likely because it has different price for APAC region?

does anyone have any insight into how they procure these old servers that end up at KS? It may help understand if there is any chance of the KS-A ever actually being able to buy again, similar to the old Atom KS-1, which were presumably only freed up when someone cancelled.

  • OVH is constantly launching new activities and releasing inventory, but the data center cannot meet the huge demand.

I’ve only ever seen like 4-5 confirmed KS-A servers all across different forums and telegram/discord groups and the majority are people from here, the chances of getting one seems to be lower and lower each time as more and more bots are being used. And even if you manage to order one then you have to get lucky enough to actually get one delivered and not cancelled.

They have restocked 2-3 times from I have seen but like I said very very few servers actually get delivered so they can’t restock many at a time…it’s great marketing from OVH, it’s got everyone talking that’s for sure

I have a KS-1 available for transfer, if anyone wants it. 4x2T hdd in BHS, CA account. idk how to transfer services in ovh so if anyone can tell me that would be great too.

  • @zrj766 said: OVH is constantly launching new activities and releasing inventory, but the data center cannot meet the huge demand.

I'm not convinced it's a DC issue, but simply a supply issue with these old servers. Which is to be expected, but I feel it's a bad move in the end as I think many of us would sooner not have to deal with OVH after a limited experience with them.

They are a shady french centric company theres a reason so few people have heard of such a large company.

    is it a 1g lottery?

  • @Adam1 said: but simply a supply issue with these old servers

yes, but the main problem is they are overselling their stock, they don't have their shop under control. these old part servers are nothing they can easily re-stock by just ordering new parts.

    I don't like OVH either
    1. The website is too bloated and slow to access
    2. This year, my order was rejected when I used Paypal to pay, as an old user.
    3. Technical support is always much slower, compared to Hetzner and Scaleway.

Does OVH have no inventory management? On one side, they are replenishing, while on the other side, they lack hardware and cannot deliver, and it is unclear how much inventory is left. Maybe I don't understand the management of large DCs.

Sorry can't edit above, but just wanted to mention server was delivered 6h ago so you'll have nearly a full month going forward.

I'm using mine for a few 'light' tasks, I don't have much use for a Canadian machine.

Performance wise it's great, well better now the rusty old 480gb SSD isn't in it anymore.
