Haha funny. So funny.
Gotta pay for customer service?
To me that just seems ridiculous.
haha a fight on LowEndTalk? no way. (Im on your side)
His docs were shit back in 2021. Theyre probly better now, but I found this guy an insufferable asshole. Been trying to avoid annoying him here, but I figured why not cause its been over 3 years now and he still writes like everyone else is underneath him.
Im sorry, do you actually have any ddos protection?
Do i actually get access to 15Gb/s inbound ?
Only latest advance ranges on ovh GRA has this as far as I know. Its 2x25G NIC with 25G downstream burst enabled but they do not advertise this fact. Could be in other EU locations too.
But yes, its real.
Its interesting how many hosts deceive by not including vital info, isn't it haha.
Its not guaranteed obviously. It could be 15 in or 25 in or just 10 in. My adv-3 is 25 in as long as I dont exceed my burst quota by sending full port via outgoing traffic, since outgoing is also in the same quota but only goes up to 5G for me.
In short its lottery. Most people have best luck with adv-3 in france (gra/rbx), but some claim its for all adv range servers that have the new epyc 4xxx
What hardware for ddos mitigation?
Explain further?
I think if it's in Europe and USA, there are many choices.
If in APAC, based from my Experience Path Network still be the top-3 providers (they have a lot of issues in the past, almost 1 month downtime in SG node ..) but, their protection totally clean but need to be patient and understand what protection config you need to do follow.
We do not build hours of engineering time (e.g consulting, custom development etc) into the cost of service. For most people who don't want this, it's a waste. For someone who does (and by the sounds of your complaint, you do) it's an optional extra.
I find it mildly funny that for a second time you still can't get the rate right
If instead you come to us with a problem, a need for help it's a answered by our support. It's not rocket science.
Our knowledgebase is a continually growing resource. Contributed to by us and our customers for over 10 years. I don't think it's ever been "shit" considering that nearly every page if the panel has a linked dedicated help resource and there are considerable step by step guides.
And yet here you are taking over ops thread with an issue you clearly have with me. This will be my last reply, as this is off topic. Feel free to complain to me privately if you wish. Or we can discuss in a thread the management policy we have and perhaps I'll seek feedback from the wider community on the policy.
Yes, that's why I ended with an apology. Because I'm above you. What planet are you on?
don't you just resell psychz with a few added filters? i wouldn’t consider you a real mitigation company, even if what you said was correct (it's really not). I wouldn't place what you do above any server providers who are doing their mitigation inhouse. At least they actually run their own networks
Ok, I am out (again I don't want to take over OPs thread). I didnt even advertise my services (or even mention them). If you want to take something out on me, open up a hate on X4B thread.
I meerly tried to help with a statement that I believe to be true.
"A server provider is going to specialise in providing servers, if you are serious about protection you need a DDoS protection provider. For everyone else, its an addon."
Best of luck OP.
If you don't think we add anything then try and find what we offer at Psychz. We crossed 10 years this year, and it took us the best part of that to build what today we have. And even if everone in this thread in their expert opinion seems to think we are crap (aparently), I'm proud of what myself and the small team behind us has built.
very few people share this opinion, especially as more (actual) ddos protection providers now provide servers themselves. Of course you would have this opinion as a "ddos protection provider" that is unable to sell servers due to just reselling Psychz. I'm sorry your subtle ad didn't go as planned.
thank you for your feedback.
@RoyaleHosting for ddos protected dedi and vps
We have FENS DDoS at the edge on all dedicated servers right now
Bandwidth : 100TB / 1Gbps
CPU : 2 x E5-2630 v3 2.4GHz Haswell
Memory : 32GB
Drive : 480GB SSD
$153 / month
All other service plans are protected by Corero Smartwall up to 100 Gbps attacks.
https://charityhost.org/account/store/starter-bare-metal-servers
(Windows Server license is selected by default on dedicated and cost a bit more, but selecting any linux OS will remove the license)
Friendly as always.

Im making popcorn.
Yes. Also OVH is similar. They network rate cap at 5 Mbps from OVH to Hetzner. 1 server with 250 Mbps unmetered at ovh and 1 server with 100 Mbps plus at hetzner. Data transfers were snails at 5Mbps. Dont know if that is still the case. Hetzner seemed better servers and network than ovh though.
Should i contact path directly, if not (And yes, i need this in Europe preferably), who should i purchase it from?
I dont know any path resellers other than eugamehost (which are good, dont get me wrong) but they only offer cosmic in the UK, and path in Germany. Im wondering if there is any provider that offers path in the UK? Or did they all drop path for the massive amounts of downtime?
We use an external provider for protection.
Can you expand on that?
Who is this external provider?
i enjoy in LET as always and to be honest i would say OVH has good anti ddos but if you want a vps with out of box anti ddos then go for OVH game vps its not in ovh site you need a reseller that can accomodate you with ovh game vps example www.extravm.com @MikeA . i did not used personally but i can say the support and prices are good accordining to the reviews posted here.
Voxility
Tempest.net is a Path brand where they sell servers, maybe you'll find something for you there as they have couple of dedis in London for sale.
tempest is known for being really pricey -- thanks for the suggestion though!
From my experience, you can never go wrong with a merchant that has as much bandwidth reserve as possible. When a massive attack comes in, even cleansing requires enough ports to mitigate it.
So whether it's OVH or Hetzner, they do fulfill that.
Thank you for the mention
@SplitIce
Yes and no. Because the servers they sell are network connected and, unlike e.g. a mainframe, usually used as network node, hence it's only logical for a server provider to also look at and care (and know, sometimes a lot) about network attacks incl. DDOS.
OTOH you are right when one leaves the LET and average user/business level and "business critical" really translates to "millions lost per day". Then I think one indeed should talk to DDOS specialists.
Providers specializing in ddos protection like path and cosmic are often selling servers now because they had to order a bunch of bandwidth and they need to offset the cost by selling dedicated servers, because those are way easier to sell than ddos protection by itself.
