Jar saves the day, MyW to continue (WAS MyW is closing doors)

interesting turn of events, i have several lifetime accounts, idling, im glad they can continue to idle for a while longer.
Of course, i was not under any illusion about sustainability, but it's good o hear it can be sustained a while longer.
I hope a solution to make it more economical can be found, while maintaining lifetime idling.
Of course, thanks to @MikePT and @jar for working together to find a solution - quite rare i think in this industry, beyond disappearing or just selling their customers to the boogeyman.
@jar I’m not sure if you want to keep running this, but as I did post many pages ago, and you mentioned this as well, I think costs can be cut significantly if that what it takes to keep running it long-term.
For sure look into that at least before you make your mind up, you might be able to financially, at least, make it work.
Then, in a year or so, IF you’re really ready to let it die, maybe @MikePT is back on his feet again and could buy or have (you guys will figure this out) the now profitable business back, obviously in the best of worlds.
Tomorrow I'll probably get a better idea of what @MikePT wants to do. But I definitely have infrastructure that can cut costs. No further than example one: IPXO IPs are just waiting for the IP owner to want them back or for IPXO to be a dick about an abuse complaint, so renumbering is not only justifiable and cost saving, it's inevitable.
Also make a little announcement for the people who already migrated to delete/cancel their service,
i am sure atleast 30% people did already so you can save on some server money too.
Aye I'll send out an email to everyone.
I have an MXRoute account if you need help sending that email
has anyone ever wondered if the same outbound limits apply to him as well
Surely, otherwise it’s unfair
He must also pay himself the same as we do
I don't see the "Request Cancellation" option. However, we may be able to cancel via https://myw.pt/manager/clientarea.php?action=cancel&id=XXXXX
Just replace XXXXX with your product id
I didn't go through with the cancellation yet though. In the offchance @jar fully takes over MyW and/or merges with MxRoute 🕵️♂️
kudos @jar !
Thanks a lot @jar for saving the day! Loved the spirit of your email.
Thanks for everything mate. I am a current client and also I was in your old mxroute.io project. So i am happy everything keeps working and you two together.
All the respect to @mikept
Thanks @jar , a gesture like what you have done reinforces the spirit of community, beyond the jungle that is often LET in many situations.
@jar
thanks a lot for your kind gesture.
Also, I know you must have calculated the revenue/expenses from MyW.
I would suggest as a customer of MyW that you can keep a single node (either in EU,US,SG) which can host the all the lifetime plans from rest of the two locations, and the monthly plans can be sold from 3 locations or just the any one. So instead of spending on licenses and server costs on 3 locatons, only one location can do for lifetime plans (if everything fits in) for a foreseeable future.
and if you can afford to run in all those 3 locations like it was earlier then good for all customers. everyone will be happy.
Damn!! i spent whole night migrating all the services to namecrane from my hotel room and sending mails to clients explaining sudden migration. I am on vacation and now atleast i can spend my day in peace. thanks @jar
Thank you for doing this for our community @jar
same happened with me. Yesterday I was talking with MikePT when he announced and i was out of city. later today I migrated one clients a/c to namecrane (my own a/c) and will transfer few as they wanted USA location from Germany. Rest, I'm keeping with MyW itself. Still have 7-8 a/c here. Now I can spend my day with a chilled beer as I'm relaxed.
anyone joining me for a beer?
Thank you @jar
Stay strong @Mikept
You are good person. Because you didn't shut the shop overnight and ran like cloveo
Great save @jar @MikePT
Is it too soon for a joke?

For all the drama that happens here, at least this one is headed towards a happy ending!
I'd be down for one, but I reat> @JasonM said:

IS IT A LIFETIME ACCOUNT BRO?
I just got this email:
Hey friend,
My name is Jarland Donnell and I'm the owner of MXroute, LLC. You recently received an email explaining that MyW will be closing it's doors. While that email did in fact describe the facts of the matter at that time, we were able to prevent this at the last minute. MyW is in good standing with it's vendors and will remain operational. All of the services that you have paid for will continue to function. Miguel, the founder of MyW, is an old colleague of mine and we have the type of relationship that allows me to send you this notice before we have finalized all of the details of this transition. I believe it is more important that you know that your services are not going offline than it is for you to know the details that we're still working out. What I can tell you is that MXroute has the resources to keep MyW afloat indefinitely, regardless of it's profitability. Presently there is no risk of your services going offline.
As we work out the finer details of this you will of course be kept in the loop. I'm sorry that I don't have any more for you right now. Please expect that support may be limited during this time. A primary focus right now will be ensuring that everything is online and functioning as intended so as to reduce any need for you to contact support.
Jarland Donnell

I know but I wanted to share the email.
"MXroute has the resources to keep MyW afloat indefinitely" ? I am sold!
I already moved my sites to Namecrane but really happy to know that myw.pt will stay, most of us here just buy the service to idle and only "uptime" is what we need if not any use-case.
Yeah, it's definitely served me well to host hobby sites (not clients).
@jar needs to study English more.

This community is so great with members and providers helping one another. Above everything else this is what I like to see on LowEndTalk.
I believe this is my favorite thread of this complicated year. This thread has a happy ending.
