    Runcloud is good

As a former #1 affiliate and top customer. I will never recommend runcloud. All services hit NGINX errors over a week and support didn’t bother trying to resolve for fix for years before I quit and moved all my clients.

    This is prob paid marketing.

@huntercop where did you move to after RC? I've got about 25 servers on RC right now. Not feeling like I have any issues that are showstoppers for me there right now, but would be good to know if you're somewhere that you would recommend now.

  • Very happy with easypanel.io .. The creator is actively with regular updates and very smart. I talk to him on discord and he set up a support community there.

I considered joining their affiliate but honestly. They deserve the free marketing. Please check them out.

3 projects in free plan. I put more than one service in a project sometimes and owner is aware. He is fine with it. Super nice guy.

Paying for a service in this day and age is regretful.

It most definitely is not paid marketing - I'm not even an affiliate.
Further, I didn't fully read the topic title and did not realise OP wanted something self-hosted.

  • moved from Cloudways to xCloud 2 servers with Hetzner, a few Woocommerce with @speedypage VPS love the performance and few standard static site with NetCup and still paying half of what i was paying with cloudways.

@speedypage ? That's a member, what is the provider? Happy for you. Hope it holds up true and well as you would expect it.

  • xCloud Stack managing my @speedypage VMs for WordPress hosting. was my comment hard to understand ?

I see you are sharing what you use... A bit off topic though. Specially, the OP was looking for a control panel or management system for VPS, not VPS itself.

https://serverpilot.io/ I tested it out a while ago. Seems alright and cheaper. You connect whatever VPS you want from it, anywhere. Then if you are heavy on WordPress, perhaps https://managewp.com would help

Unless you have some affiliation with Serverpilot it's one of the expensive one. If you want free

    Cloudpanel

    Paid

    xCloud - Wordpress only
    SererAvatar
    RunCloud

If Reselling or even self hosting.

    Enhance

  • All this will keep panel off your site and in theory more secure from attacks plus more lightweight since it's headless.

Unless or not, but not affiliated. It's not the same, serverpilot.io is not a control panel on the host, it manages the host configurations with an agent of sorts and keeps the UI on their hosted SaaS, like CloudWays, which was the OP request. It is cheaper than CloudWays and more flexible as in you just need a VPS anywhere with ubuntu 18.04 up to 24.04.

    "Economy
    $5/server + $0.50/app
    per month

Securely host WordPress and PHP apps without monitoring or priority support."

But yea it's pretty basic... But nice to keep the panel off the host.

All of these recommendations are now ancient tools and have limits and costs.

Easypanel has paid structure. But you don’t need it! Just use it free and get everything plus more.

I have spent years looking for this. So have you. You’ll see I have many year old discussions about this same topic too on LET

    Thanked by 1sasslik
  • Easypanel also secures the server for you! Just FYI. I asked the CTO about security and he backs it up 100% and even updated the terms of use to remove any weakness that implies product isn’t safe by itself etc etc. No one else does this. Everyone has a dozens of disclaimers, not easypanel.

No aff link here. No marketing. Go check it out.

    Easypanel.io

Could easypanel export/import user, databases and webapps?
I need this to migrate sites between providers or restore sites from backup.

  • @huntercop said: Easypanel

is it fully docker based or what?

somethings are not clear from their website.

and can i deploy projects directly without git? also does it support self-hosted git repositories?

Around 2 years iirc. Migrated from Portainer and never looked back.

Almost perfect, 9/10. Using it for production for around 6+ months, pretty active updates from its developer.

  • @Dazzle can i DM you?

  • Just go for Enhance Control Panel.

    Thanked by 1meditatingsurgeon
  • I tested Cloudways Autonomous and was very disappointed with the price:performance ratio. I use Enhance and still have not exceeded the $6 monthly fee (which will cover you for around 30 websites). I have 8 servers connected to the main control panel with around 25 active sites.

It’s not self hosted, but the only panel that made our badly developed PHP7 dependant WP site actually go swhoosh, handle traffic spikes and most importantly, offer a caching plugin that works great with our very specific implementation of Custom Post Types etc was RunCloud.

I have to say support isn’t the most helpful, but the software is premium. If I didn’t have these very specific requiements, I’d probably use some CLI solution, or CloudPanel. Something that actually seperate sites with different users (like RunCloud and CloudPanel both can do).

However, few (if any) free CLI options offer well-implemented caching for both Page Cache & Object Cache with a first party WP plugin with all the features you might need like RunCloud does.

Edit: Also, RunCloud’s new containerized setup (in BETA, I believe) works great for us on Ubuntu 24.04. It’s a bit of a resource hog compared to the non-containerized setup however, something to keep in mind.

  • +1 for cyberpanel.

Coolify or Dokploy both very cool options.

Hi, sorry, but let's discuss here in the thread. I'm just an ordinary EasyPanel user. If you want further support, you can join their Discord.

  • I'm currently exploring Dokploy and Easypanel after I've tried Coolify. You might want to check those out if you've already familiarized yourself with Coolify.

So do you mean I can also setup multiple server, and it can automatically scale when the traffic hits?

And do you have those 8 servers hosted in different locations?

I don't think it does load balancing. I think it's more like a central control panel for multiple servers.

Like if one WHM managed multiple cPanels.

Not 100 % sure though, @meditatingsurgeon will know.
