Shouldn’t @GoSSDHosting be banned for scamming his client?

  • What you two are doing is in some way supporting Calin's actions.
You're normalizing it by saying something like "well, the other party is a crook too" and preparing the ground for him to keep the money and get away with it.

We don't know the origin of this money, we're just assuming. What we do know for a fact is that Calin received the money, but he messed up when he transferred it from crypto to his bank account, and now another one of his clients is screwed.
He doesn’t have the service he purchased, nor has he been refunded the money.

    No, it’s the same situation.

    From my understanding:

Calin had a 3rd party ruin it for him, now @GoSSDHosting has no servers nor money.

@GoSSDHosting had a 3rd party ruin it for him, now his clients has no servers nor money.

Realitically I can’t see why one is wrong and one is right.

Everyone (maybe or maybe not you) wants drama & for Calin to lose his tag and get banned, well, things like these is exactly what crypto & DMCA ignored leads to.

It’s just one bit shadier at a time.

  • My opinion is that the seller, whether it's @calin or anyone else, once they accept crypto payments, they take full responsibility from that point forward. It seems that @calin accepted and received the funds, and then transferred them to his Coinbase account. At this point, we’re talking about excluding any fault on the part of @GoSSDHosting. @calin, when he transferred the money from Coinbase to his bank, took full responsibility. The Coinbase account is in his name, and I don't understand why he would need the client's information. The bank is investigating @calin directly, not @calin investigating the client. This is my opinion. The mistake is @calin.

You’re missing that the exact same thing can be said for @GoSSDHosting, he got the money from his clients, so now it’s all his responsibility.

Or we’re just gonna walk up responsibility lane until we find Calin and then stop?

Generally speaking, yes, but I don't agree with you because there are details that are, in my opinion, important when calling for bans.

Is GoSSDHosting doing sales on this forum? Do we have a client who reported an issue with GoSSDHosting?
On the contrary, Calin sells things on this forum, and GoSSDHosting is getting screwed over through those sales. It’s also important to note that this isn’t the first time Calin has done this to clients.

In the worst case, we can reproach GoSSDHosting for being irresponsible in subcontracting Calin, but at the end of the day, the money ended up with Calin, not GoSSDHosting.
In general, I agree with you that both parties screwed over the original client - one by irresponsible subcontracting and the other by not delivering the service or refunding the money, but this here is a dispute between GoSSDHosting and Calin.
Either way, the money didn’t end up in GoSSDHosting’s pocket so we can't really talk about scam here from our point of view (original client may feel differently), but with Calin.

  • It sounds incredibly stressful to deal with someone who keeps shifting the blame and making excuses. Hopefully, you can find a way to resolve this soon, either through effective communication or by seeking legal advice if needed. Stay strong!

Yeah, 100 % agree. I don’t really believe what I said fully either, because, well, obviously as you said he’s not selling anything here.

It was mainly meant to get people to realize that Calin didn’t magically get the money, someone decided to send a 19 year old 22.5K for hosting what I assume is copyrighted content. That’s just not sound. That decision risked, in turn, the end client’s money.

Obviously, Calin thought he could accomodate but couldn’t.

  • calin is the young man who likes to try things out with a soldering iron or other plugs and if he's lucky, it works.

he knows how to connect servers one after the other or directly to the gateway but that's it, dear friends of the night - he's not a businessman!

and if he's unlucky, he'll have to make coffee for the police and the tax authorities more often now!

the drama started when he left home and his own hosting and tried to set himself up professionally in the data center. and the way he throws money around is not his place - a businessman doesn't do that and I never take crypto to the bank, but use it to buy goods and services that I can pay for with crypto - everything else is just rubbish and a great lack of experience!

and the offensive advertising - trying to attract everyone, he has to do it because his services are abysmal and his downtime is ridiculous for a provider - no business works like that, not even a DMCA-free one!
