I always used Windflix servers on Android or Browser extension. Where is that setting and on what app?

The switch only available on their webpanel on the site, in account setting if i remember correctly. Just need to activate once and all their servers accessed via whatever client will be stream capable.

    Awesome, thanks!

Edit: seems like it was already enabled :)

  • I don't see the subscripiton button on the plan I migrated from Ivacy. Is it just me?

Purevpn's dashboard may be different. Maybe you'll just be charged once expiry date is reached.

The response I received from support was as follows:

    • When your subscription is nearing its expiration, you can simply contact us, and we will ensure that your subscription is properly taken care of.
    • Please contact us 1-2 days before your subscription expires.
    • We cannot set your subscription to expire in the year 2999 right now.

I just hope that four years from now, I don't forget to open a ticket to request a subscription renew...

this is what windscreen does. you just have to provide proof of payment like the receipt from stacksocial because they dont want credential stuffed accounts from renewing in perpetuity

  • Anyone who has already ported their lifetime ivacy across to purevpn, does your port forwarding still work fine?

I have ivacy lifetime with free port forwarding addon and would like to know this before considering porting over.

I haven't tried this, but pf is enabled for my account in Purevpn (I can choose to block/open all ports, or specific ones in dashboard).

  • Thanks for that mate, I just ported over now too and can see the same options.

Will test out later to make sure pf is functioning as normal

Working as expected. Using OpenVPN config with qBittorrent.

  • something smelled fishy when they told us to contact them 2-3 days before the expiration date. i will contact them in 3 months before it expires to ensure they will not "push" me to buy another product with "marketing gimmicks".

It's almost assured that's what will happen. They did that to everyone who bought purevpn lifetime, why would they let ivacy people get lifetime? :)

Mine will expire in 3 months, I contacted them and they told me I should ask for an renewal a week before expire.

Totally random numbers: 2-3 days, a day, a week, 3 weeks.. they really can't make up their mind

They keep phrasing it like "ask for a renewal" or "transition to a new plan." I don't see any place where they say something like "don't worry, you bought lifetime you'll get lifetime." So confusion helps them, but it's pretty obvious what's going to end up happening.

Opened a ticket with the same lifetime question as everyone else though. No harm in trying to keep things going.

  • so in my Ivacy account nothing new... WHAT do I have to do an when?
Can someone explain in 2 sentences.

    kind regards, friends!

There should be a countdown when you login. Seems like it was 33 days that you have to transfer the account over. There's some instructions earlier in the thread, but basically you create a new password for PureVPN's login (you keep the same email address as the Ivacy account) and sneak around putting in credit card info.

When you login to Ivacy, you get a page with a countdown and a form to fill for service migration. That form will create an account with PureVPN using same e-mail from Ivacy and password specified by you in form. Service will be recreated automatically and continued at PureVPN in your new account there.

Windscribe for me never was the fastest vpn. Just the coolest features. Keepsolid has decent speeds usually.

Replaced the Windscribe browser extension with PureVPN, and now I'm maxing out my connection. Pretty good first day so far.

  • Typing in 'purevpn lifetime' on reddit brings up a few posts showing how people go through many hoops to get them to extend their lifetime membership for another 5 years, the common patterns are pushing the customer back to stacksocial or offering alternative vpn like keepsolid.

I think we need purevpn to state clearly in their response, that they will honor future extensions of the ivacy lifetime agreement at 5 year intervals free of charge, otherwise nothing is certain.

No. You might want to contact them every 5 years, before expiry.

I also switched to Ivacy browser extension when streaming (compared to having used WS before).
Will also give purevpn a try.

  • So here was the reply I got:

We are delighted to have you as a part of the PureVPN family! Just so you know, our lifetime accounts have a maximum cycle of 5 years. However, if your account expires, you can always reach out to us and we will assist you in renewing it.

    Slightly different wording, same vagueness.

  • lifetime accounts have a maximum cycle of 5 years

Soo which animal are you guys feeling today? :D

Here’s a list of pets and animals with an expected lifespan of around 5 years:
Hamsters: Some species, like the Syrian hamster, often live up to 2-3 years, but others can reach around 5 years.
Mice: Typically, mice have a lifespan of 2-3 years, but under good care, they might reach up to 4-5 years.
Rats: Domesticated rats generally live around 2-3 years, but some can live up to 4-5 years with proper care.
Guinea Pigs: These small rodents usually have a lifespan of 4-7 years, with 5 years being a common average.
Gerbils: These small rodents usually live around 3-5 years.
Chinchillas: While chinchillas can live longer (up to 10 years or more), some might only live around 5-6 years, particularly if their care isn’t optimal.
Certain Fish: Some species of tropical fish, like Bettas, can live up to 5 years with proper care.
Leopard Geckos: These reptiles can live around 5-10 years, though some may have shorter lifespans in captivity.
Frogs: Certain species like African Dwarf Frogs typically live around 5 years.
Canaries: While they can live longer, many canaries live around 5-6 years in captivity.
Dwarf Rabbits: Some breeds of dwarf rabbits may have a lifespan close to 5 years.
Ferrets: While ferrets typically live around 6-10 years, some may only reach around 5 years depending on various factors.

  • After using the PureVPN extension, I'm reminded of an issue I had with the Ivacy browser extension - every so often for some reason the US servers are unaccessible to me, and I have to use Canada. I remember submitting a bug report to Ivacy and basically got brushed off. Seeing it this weekend and today with the PureVPN extension now.

I wonder if there's some sort of unstated limit on bandwidth on these proxy servers?

Pretty sure I used PureVPN extension US the other day without issue. But mobile app keeps making issues lol

Yeah, it works fine until it doesn't. Always seems to work fine at first but then the problems start, hence the thought of possible bandwidth limits.

Yeah. Recently I just wanted to connect to a vpn app for streaming US and PureVPN, and Windscribe both just wouldn't work reliably. Both didn't get more than 5-10 mbits on various protocols (wg, ovpn, ikev), and in the end I fired up Keepsolid which delivered a solid 90 Mbit/s ish performance
