I think Nordvpn owns most right? Like Surfshark, and others?

  • @kenjing789 said: how do i make my server alway have the port forward instead of my phone

Use on your server port forwarding vpn servers and for you phone normal vpn servers.

Not great lol, I just sent them that I consider ~2months as about to expire for a 5year subscription, this was their reply before my reply, curious what term they consider "about to expire" hopefully they explain it in their next reply.

I want to assure you that we will take care of your subscription when it is about to expire. Please have faith and trust that we have this under control; you do not need to worry.

To ensure a smooth process, please feel free to contact us or send us an email before your subscription expires. Your understanding and cooperation in this matter are greatly appreciated.

Definitely pop a ticket a week or couple of days (as other people here were advised) before expiry.

They just replied that I have to contact them 2days before (they listed a date, which is 2days before expiry).

Yeah, same like in the reply to me. They also created a ticket I should reply to, so I'll do exactly that.

  • For me I already created a ticket, asked them now what happens if I can't renew it due to whatever reason, imagine one ends up in the hospital, or just forgetting, what would happen? I mean in theory I can schedule an email to be sent exactly on that date as a reply to their ticket mail.

Yeah, the "contact x days/weeks before expiry" is stupid. Either make it like Windscribe and regularly check if a lifetime account is still being used or has been inactive for x months/years then deactivate. Or just put "lifetime/onetime" and be done with it like Keepsolid.

  • Do you have to input your payment details while transferring / porting or whatever? Now I put my credit card at risk lol.

I proceeded without entering the card number, and it appears that the migration was completed without payment information.

No need to do that. Use the second option that doesn’t require a credit card (I don’t remember what it was called - non-recurring or something like that).

I actually had to 1) tick the option "no auto-renewal" (or similar), and 2) switch to the PayPal payment tab (not entering any details), otherwhise it wouldn't proceed with my new pw lol. Kinda buggy.

This is what I’m talking about :) That option doesn’t require a credit card.

It doesn't, but for me the cc tab remained open and upon entering a new pw it wouldn't proceed. Hence why I switched to the PayPal tab, and did the same as you did. Worked that way. A friend reported it didn't work at all on PC, so maybe it's kinda bugged. I wonder what would've happened if I hadn't received an email (I did not) and wouldn't have seej this thread (luckily, I did). Ivacy said the app will stop functioning in 48h. But how long will the website (migration option) remain? Better move earlier than later imho

There is wg config now? I think Ivacy didn't have manual wg config generator, did they?

At least as of March of this year, Ivacy had a WG config generator.

WireGuard Configuration will expire in 30 minutes after that you need to regenerate a new configuration.

  • I never even received an email about Ivacy / PureVPN deal...
I bought lifetime, 525 days "remaining", and says:
Next Recurring on PureVPN: $0.67/m for 60 months.
They are hoping for people to not "renew" for free, ofc.

Their way of doing things, needing to contact support, opening ticket and shit to extend the 5 year "lifetime" is terrible. Should've just auto extend if account is active, ie got active login active connection etc.

Keepsolid "lifetime" actually doesn't mark any expiring date and mine still work after 5+ years no need to open ticket and all. Windcsribe "lifetime" while got expiry in 10 years actually auto renew itself, doesn't need active login active usage doesn't need opening ticket and shit.

I actually liked keepsolid among these "lifetime" vpn deals, to me at least its the fastest. It's actually faster than my windscribe monthly sub.

Windscribe for me never was the fastest vpn. Just the coolest features. Keepsolid has decent speeds usually.

Oh crap. I couldn't find the options non auto recurring. I couldn't proceed without entering a card. Perhaps the options is not visible to the screen reader users. Oh well.

Exactly. Windscribe aren't the fastest but for streaming its the best. They've now got a switch in setting that would make all their server to be stream capable. Connect to any uk server and auto see netflix uk content, connect sg server and see sg content etc. Basically on the fly automatic, doesn't need to murk around finding which servers works which doesn't like on other providers.

I always used Windflix servers on Android or Browser extension. Where is that setting and on what app?

The switch only available on their webpanel on the site, in account setting if i remember correctly. Just need to activate once and all their servers accessed via whatever client will be stream capable.

they achieve this using ROBERT, their DNS service for Windscribe. the latest update did allow custom DNS to be used, such as their sister company ControlD, but ROBERT is what they use for regional unblocking
