Is it still summertime for SummerHost
Sad what happened to @justvm
I haven't had any problems with them, the service was great and the price was very affordable.
and now I'm gone
"Your satisfaction is our priority."
More like cash grab was his priority.
Should we submit a ticket and passively wait for the refund, or should we proactively initiate a dispute through PayPal?
You have 180d to dispute with PayPal. Don't start disputing for no reason, just wait for them to issue prorated refunds (open a ticket now, he'll probably do it based on queue). I don't like their move, and I'm affected too, but they gave a quite reasonable month to migrate away.
I checked the wrong thread
It's the Limewave business model.
Chargeback and move on to the next summerhost.
I did not disappear, I am here and I'd like to communicate that I am not answering the support tickets to keep them in the order that I have received otherwise they will go to the end of the line.
So if you need to contact me without interrupting the tickets's orders you can ask right here.
Can you provide a more clear & exhaustive explanation to what happened?
Just a few days/weeks ago you were still giving deals, getting new subnets, ...
I just wrote an email for a customer with the explanation, I will elaborate more and will post here.
so sad,so there's nothing to reverse?
Just FIY....I did reach out to them about assisting, collaborating, or a possible acquisition. So far they have yet to get back to me.
Your email was posted here and didn't really provide an explanation.
How could you post offers on 8/1 and be out of business 20 days later?
"We regret to inform you that, due to ongoing and unresolved issues with our current data center provider, JustVM will be closing its operations. Despite our best efforts, we have encountered persistent challenges with network stability and IP management that could not be resolved to our satisfaction."
So why not move datacenters?
Keep in mind that your web site says you've been in business since 2008. Surely you've had a lot of challenges you've overcome so closing because of "network stability" seems a bit questionable. You must have thousands of customers if you've been in business for 16 years and quite a substantial operation, so even if you had to move DCs, that's better than throwing away nearly 2 decades' worth of work and profit...right?
What 2008 lol
They started selling justvm in December 2023
They started with vpsrus in 2008 and justvm in 2023.
https://justvm.net/terms-and-conditions/
Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, 17 U.S.C. 512, as reasonably determined by VPSRUS.
Lmao
i have 4 active vps in justvm, i don't received any email and i don't get any support ticket respond
I had no intention of closing at all as you can see in the picture I just got a new subnet to continue the services but due to the recent events I had 3 options:
1) Sell the company
2)Move to a new DC
3) Close
I chose the 3rd option
hyde middle school
Not only this a new service was added to deploy and manage the dedicated servers, so you see I had no intention to close.
It is not as simple as saying. Anyway, I believe that my services were good for the price charged, unfortunately, those were deteriorating and I would not give shit services to anybody no matter the price paid.
I would like to say also that I paid my providers one month in advance to give the customers time to find a new hosting and/or retrieve their data.
Please send me your support ticket number, also again I am not answering the tickets to not lose the place in line
It may not be as simple as saying but you still don't give a real explanation; I may have missed "the recent events" or I may not see these as dramatic or unable to overcome as you may see them, but there are things that don't add up at all.
So, odds are, in my opinion, against the decision to quit with the 'reason' given...
no explanation given.
Devils advocate (intentional but I agree it's pretty... unexplained).
What if that specific DC was enough to just sink them as sustaining the other DCs isn't viable?
Part of the explanation is on this thread, you can read it.
This business model is viable, but not with one server in each place, it happens that I have more than 30 servers on that DC, and without them, it makes the business unsustainable, this model is based on volume not margin.
Okay.
So for full context I don't know how to run a business. I work in IT and I've worked for small and large companies.
My questions for you.
Where was your back up plan?
Have you considered other DCs?
Why did you just basically give up?
You don't just run insane promotions, then pull out and close shop claiming network and DC issues.
It is incredible how many errors are present.
Part, yes exactly, part of the explanation.
Understandable, but the part I really don't understand is that you so easily pull the plug from it. Apart from the time invested (by you), in my opinion it can't be that you have 30+ servers there and don't have a longer term contract. It seems (yes I've tried to read the thread) that you had to order hardware to fix issues, i.e. they don't seem to be rented. Same goes for IP addresses.
In the end it is your decision ofcourse, but it doesn't add up that one day you are offering and less then a week later you say "I'm quitting", and that on the other hand you're keep on saying "we're in business for quite some time".
The issues seem to be resolvable, unless there's more that "we" don't know about and in the end makes you realise that it's unsustainable. I mean, I've seen several hosts here with way bigger issues, worse reputation, from the outside more unsustainable offers, but they are still around. Maybe not on LET, but "out there" doing their thing. Anyway, as I said: it's your decision, but it just doesn't add up in my opinion.
Obvious exit scam promotion
