Absolutely it’s been a circus since the start with @EvosHosting
Based on how they are handling taxes, i know a few other members have mentioned questionable, borderline criminal behaviour but let me explain what i find rather odd.
This host claims to charge 22% VAT under Italian law, yet when I sent them my documentation as a VAT vendor, I was told sorry, you are still going to pay us VAT because we generated the invoice already at a price including VAT.
After fighting with them, they acknowledged that yes I am VAT exempt under law, but the best they can do is give me a €15 discount and next time I order they can exempt the VAT. This €15 was a random number, it did not represent 22% of the order consideration.
The invoice included VAT, less €15 discounted. So they were collecting VAT, but it does not seem that they are actually paying this over to the tax authority, but rather pocketing it and using “VAT” as an excuse to pad their excl VAT prices they advertise
Then suddenly, I saw everyone else asking why they were paying VAT at 22% when they were excluded from it citing the relevant tax laws that apply
After this, Evoshosting started discounting everyone by changing their prices so that the consideration including 22% equalled what they would have paid if they were VAT exempt, but the VAT line item was just lowered so the net total incl VAT = what the net total excl VAT would have been

and now subsequent, every order placed with evoshosting is more expensive excl VAT such that excl VAT I, despite being VAT exempt, now pay the price excl VAT what they would have been incl VAT at the original price
they then also changed the quoted price for servers ordered two weeks ago, citing they read their own website incorrectly and that the prices are now €65 more than originally agreed, but they would kindly discount that €65 bollocks number to €45 as a gesture of goodwill
guess what? the original price + €45 = what the price would have been incl VAT from the beginning
what the fuck is going in?

Certainly to reclaim money I would not do hosting but a very different business,
nowadays it is all about tracking what you do

all companies started small is that those who are there like hetzner and ovh are like evos who after 10 months are managing to work

VAT is not applied to me, but what you are doing instead is padding your excl VAT rates to make them equivalent to incl VAT rates because you are not paying the VAT you collect to the authorities
if I had to pay for them and wait a month for delivery, by now i’d have just done a charge back like i was about to do with the other dedi i ordered and waited a month for

excluding those with a VAT number as we are not required to charge VAT
There is many people who paid for servers weeks back still undelivered not a surprise
