    EvosHosting always applies VAT at 22%, except for VAT number holders. However, according to some European Community laws, EvosHosting can choose not to apply VAT to non-EU citizens, but at the moment, we are not applying this because we are waiting for confirmation from our accountant (the person who handles the company's tax declarations and legal matters).

    We have almost always applied a 22% discount to Italian or non-EU customers, but I want to clarify that even if we apply a 22% discount, we still pay VAT.

    For example: A dedicated server costs €122. A customer asks me, "Can you do it for €100?" I say yes or no; if I say yes, from those €100, I still deduct the 22% to give to the state at the end of the month. The rest is profit.

    Regarding the price you mentioned, where you said we inflated it by €45, it wasn't due to VAT but rather a mistake during the order entry. Davide misread the screen; instead of 2x3.84TB, you had chosen 2x8TB, so to accommodate you, he didn't apply the +€60 base price for the upgrade but instead €45, which was accepted by you.

    to date, whcms does not have an automatic verification model

    Not looking to jump in here - But what you wrote isn't correct, WHMCS do infact have 100% automated VAT control, including automated verification of VAT Numbers - This is all well documented in the WHMCS docs: https://docs.whmcs.com/payments/tax-configuration/

    they then also changed the quoted price for servers ordered two weeks ago, citing they read their own website incorrectly and that the prices are now €65 more than originally agreed, but they would kindly discount that €65 bollocks number to €45 as a gesture of goodwill

    guess what? the original price + €45 = what the price would have been incl VAT from the beginning

    EvosHosting always applies VAT at 22%, except for VAT number holders. However, according to some European Community laws, EvosHosting can choose not to apply VAT to non-EU citizens, but at the moment, we are not applying this because we are waiting for confirmation from our accountant (the person who handles the company's tax declarations and legal matters).

    We have almost always applied a 22% discount to Italian or non-EU customers, but I want to clarify that even if we apply a 22% discount, we still pay VAT.

    For example: A dedicated server costs €122. A customer asks me, "Can you do it for €100?" I say yes or no; if I say yes, from those €100, I still deduct the 22% to give to the state at the end of the month. The rest is profit.

    Regarding the price you mentioned, where you said we inflated it by €45, it wasn't due to VAT but rather a mistake during the order entry. Davide misread the screen; instead of 2x3.84TB, you had chosen 2x8TB, so to accommodate you, he didn't apply the +€60 base price for the upgrade but instead €45, which was accepted by you.
