I'll most likely transfer mine too, it's instability issues, the box is actually fine.
The box is fine, @Calin servers have taken a hit over the last 24hrs, but prior to that the uptime has been pretty decent.
Add to that the price, £38 per year is a good price for 3TB of storage, if you want better uptime but same storage I'd imagine it would cost you a lot more elsewhere (I could be wrong as not really checked).
Until Calin gets some DDoS protection, their whole network will get hit every few days.
For the price you can get better deals from other Romanian hosts too. With better performance, network & uptime.
“Other Romanian with better” you just cut one Romanian provider down instantly

but they are totally different products aimed at different market segments
one might have better uptime but the other will gladly use abuse complaints as toilet paper. can’t have both for the same price
Yeah so basically:
@Calin: Will fight for anything even if he goes to jail (including poor uptime due to them hosting X type of websites which get attacked a lot) (or his servers may get seized at any time too)
@host_c: Spectacular performance/uptime/network with decent abuse policy (but don't do illegal shit basically) and cheaper.
I don't know why I went with Calin on my storage box when I use it for seeding all legal stuff having host_c but well, his offer is no longer available so RIP.
And don't get me wrong, I support free speech and have nothing against it. The same goes for the free internet, but Calin goes way beyond that, at least with torrenting movies and that stuff which well, morally not good, legally questionable too.

i have 6x host-c specials and 2x ihostart specials all idling. theyre just too good to let go of. i haven’t been impacted by the downtime on ihostart but calin did mention he’s bringing in a scrubber to solve it so perhaps theyll equalise soon

Thing is, who's upstream with that much capacity and able to mitigate such DDoS attacks won't shut down his operation after the first big company sends a "friendly" email about his stuff.
doubt calin will change transit upstream bc he wants to operate his own net for ihostart ranges. if it’s just a scrubber to absorb bad traffic the attacker will quickly move on and the scrubber will just be a silent deterrent without carrying any sus traffic

I remember from ihostART, that before even data was lost, but now it has improved, but it always happens to leave many things on the way. If now it is slowness or downtime due to DDOS, I imagine that they will implement it soon, but for that price I see it very well.
