  • From the TOS:

    1. Resource Usage Limits
      Shared/Reseller accounts may not:
      a) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer than 90 seconds.

IMHO this is a bit of a harsh one... I can understand where it's coming from, but 25% for quite a short time...

    b) Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.

    How should I read this
NGINX is a daemon. Apache is a daemon. Bind is a daemon. Syslog is a daemon.

If you can't run a daemon, what is the usecase you have for your customers? Have you altered Linux distributions completely without daemons (this is a sarcastic comment).

    d) Run cron entries with intervals of less than 10 minutes.

I know for sure not many people read a TOS, but sometimes I do, however, these 3 lines make me really doubt what you can do with a VPS...

With simple words the reasoning behind this is to prevent resource abuse since it's a VPS/shared hosting after all it's not a dedicated server. However the 25% or more system resource limit is meant as for the host node itself on which your service is located, not the VPS or the shared hosting account.
Meaning if your shared hosting account is draining more than 25% of the node's resources constantly then in 99% of the cases there is an abuse going on.

Most of the points here are not meant to limit the customer in any way but instead prevent abuse.
We have never suspended anyone for resource usage unless it's obvious abuse.

However I understand it might confuse some people so we will revise our ToS to make things clear.

Thank you for pointing this out.

That was exactly my goal - not to "schame" but to "get clear".

Anyway, enough trust to try your service out - made an order (#6662822979). Crossing my fingers that the dice shows "bandwidth upgrade" ;-)
