To me, it seems like those new locations aren't quite ready or something. Unlike in the past those new orders aren't fulfilled instantly and for some reason are still waiting for something or someone in the "Starting" phase.
    At least that's my experience.

Recently purchased a promotional VPS in Mumbai. Regrettably, the IP address in most databases is Chinese, not Indian. It’s only a dollar, but if you specifically need an Indian IP, this information might save you that dollar )

In my case, their IPv4 addresses in .RU, .FI, and .AT properly geolocate in the RIPE database to their mentioned countries. This part is done correctly.

However, for IPv6 (except for my old .RU VPS), they use ARIN IPv6 addresses, so there's no chance of getting a proper geolocation there.

Regarding my previous post, the VPS was provisioned today, so that's sorted out.

The VPS promo is unbearably slow, almost unusable - I got tired just watching 'sudo apt update' run. But the 10 Mbps speed is real and stable.

People are always unhappy that the one buck VPS doesn't work well.. As much as you pay, it works for as much as it works.

I use them for several years without complaining, but it's kind of annoying to go through this really long update and upgrade process of a new vps, only to realize that the "new location" they advertise here isn't really new, just the same old location falsely geolocated.

That's something I didn't really expect from them... They should know better than to come here trying to fool us.

  • jenkkijenkki Member

@Mumbly said: just the same old location falsely geolocated.

They don't have their own data centers or equipment. They are reselling another provider's product. It is not up to them to ensure that their vendor is providing them with the correct information.

I tried their localization in Turkey. Everything is correct ping shows Turkey and all geolocation IP addresses also show Turkey. I have no questions. And the port speed is matches for the money.

What kind of joke response is this? May I assume that you're doing this because they are your locals? GTFO with this to the proper thread (you know which one) - we're discussing hosting here. So far I just defended them, but this time there's nothing to defend them. Of course, they are responsible for false advertising.

They sell a service in Frankfurt, DE, and now they advertise a new location, Vienna, AT (185.121.131.1), that is, in reality, still Frankfurt, DE, just with falsely geolocated IPs.

It makes me wonder if Norway is fake (Sweden?) as well. Anyone got VPS there?

  • jenkkijenkki Member

@Mumbly said: I assume that you're doing this because they are your locals?

I don't give a shit where they're from. They even said something about where you pay your taxes? They said the United States. I suspect it's an American company. I don't care.

My product is working correctly, that's all I'm saying.

My several years old VPS in RU as well. But this thread here is fake advertising. And that's not really okay thing to do. They should know it better...
I'm not sure what there is to object to.

Why do you keep bringing up their old locations? What's so hard to understand about false advertising in this specific thread? You're not really helping anyone, really.

Well, I don't know how old this location is. It's kind of new. I'm not interested in the others. It's showing correctly. Ping's fine.

If you want real IP addresses of these countries, it's hardly possible for one buck. If upsteam fucked you up, then alas, the reseller has a hard time doing anything about it.

Who are you fooling? Again, GTFO with those nonsenses.
What you're doing is nothing but gaslighting user experiences with nonsensical claims.

  • jenkkijenkki Member

    Sue them.

All the databases have not updated information. It is unlikely that anyone will get a real one hundred percent original IP.

There's no Vienna location. It's still just your old Frankfurt with falsely geolocated AT IPs.

    @jenkki said: Sue them.

I am just responding to your idiotic gaslighting. Besides that, it seems like you have a brain damage because no one said there's issue with IP. The service they claim is hosted in Vienna, Austria is actually hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. They don't have new location Vienna. They just advertise it a Vienna. It's still just their old Frankfurt.

What's too hard for you to understand here? That's false advertising.

@Mumbly said: They don't have new location Vienna.

    I'm just kidding.

If you are not satisfied with incorrect localization cancel and go to another provider. Instead of blowing everyone's brains out for your one buck. You're unlikely to find a desirable and correct suggestion. The host owner's not responding at all. I'm not responsible for him.

  • MumblyMumbly Member
    edited July 2024

@jenkki you don't seem completely right in your head. I am more and more convinced that this is because of your fellow .ru countrymen host.

First of all, I didn't complain about my service - I just tried it and canceled it the same day I noticing the false location. I simply posted my observation. That's the minimum one can do. It can serve as a warning to other potential clients that may be interested in Vienna location or prompt a question for the host to respond to.

What's too hard for you to understand here?

Until you started with your moronic agenda to gaslight my posted observation about false advertising in order to blindly defend this host, that was it.
It's you who's dragging this further, making your private drama out of it. But yes, the more you try to gaslight their false advertising, the more I will post about it, because I genuinely despise gaslighters who attack posters with a legitimate review or user experience just to blindly defend host.

    -

My question to @antonpa about why he advertise and sell service in a supposedly new Vienna VPS location that doesn't exist (they provision VPS on their old Frankfurt node but with falsely geolocated IPs, so less informed clients may think their service is actually in Austria) won't be buried under your yada-yada, no matter how much you try.

  • NebesNebes Member

If you're too scared to risk a buck on their service, maybe you should stick to safer options. But hey, it’s just a dollar—give it a shot, it might just work! It didn't work for me, but it’s no big deal. They have good geo options, and you can change IPs for free, which I think is pretty cool.

I hope you're not responding to me, because if that's the case, I can simply respond with: "If you prefer to not read users' experiences, warnings, etc., I suggest you to not read this forum," as that's all I posted here.

It was a fair observation and a fair question for the host until the host's apologists came into the thread with attempt to divert issue on a hosts side away from the host.

Oh, and by the way, I have been hosted with them uninterruptedly since 2019. I don't see how your response is relevant to my fair warning/observation that they fake one of their "new" advertised locations. If anything, you can thank me.
This is a forum, we're here to discuss. If that's an issue for you, you know what to do.

I don't like your replies which are full of "fuck", "shit" and negative "cancel", "sue" etc.
    It's disgusting.

As we all know Russian is invading Ukraine and justhost.ru is a Russian company, and when customers asked @antonpa to explain the actual location of the servers , she just don't show up, but you are here, barking wolf-warrior replies.

I don't think your words("fuck", "shit", etc) could save justhost.ru 's public relations.

Let's be fair about this. This host has never brought politics to this forum or participated in such threads. They have been around since before all this mess started, and from my perspective, they are just like all other hosts, trying to earn a living. We can't hold this against them.

However, I agree with you - it would be fair for them to return to the thread and address observations about advertising a fake location.
With all the hard work they put into expanding to all those locations for real, it's just strange why would they fake that one. Did they really think no one would notice?

    Edit.
I made a typo above and posted the wrong test IP for a supposed AT, Vienna location: 185.121.134.1
