With the new AMD Epyc 4000 series, we should see some nice AM5 ECC/IPMI motherboards coming soon.

SuperMicro, Tyan, ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, and AsRockRack have already launched them

  • I have received it !

Gonna test asap when I go to the DC, gonna tell you my experience etc :)

What type of CPU cooling solutions do you use for 1U chassis?

  • I was questioning myself about, did I need a GPU to first install the OS etc, or do the IPMI Motherboard with the integrated graphic part will do the job like go to the bios or whatever to have access to the IPMI after without having a GPU ?

    I have the Gigabyte MC12-Le0

Thx for the answer by advance

It already has a GPU built into the motherboard, you don’t need any external GPU and you can install the OS just fine

    Gigabyte Mainboard MC12-LE0 Re1.0 AMD B550 AM4 Ryzen 5000 4000 Server Board NEU
    44EUR @ ebay.de

I have a few of those as well, updating to the latest bios and ipmi firmware was a bit tricky, but the board themselves are amazing!
Unmatched price considering they are brand new boards.

They are notoriously unreliable and have a weird board layout. However, given the price, it's awesome :)
I wish we had some in the US, I would totally pick up a few for a homelab or something

We had terrible issues with the Gigabyte Ryzen server boards. Would not recommend for anything critical.

Got another one for my new Jonsbo N4 case, working well so far, except the initial firmware update which took me hours to figure out at the very beginning.

  • UPDATE !

I'm in search of motherboard for around 60-80€, tell me your offer !
