I think it was cuz .fun and .store were cheap and they accepted Indian domestic payment methods.
I use spaceship for .com domains and namecheap for .xyz and ya cosmotown for .com too As far as I remember.
had bad experience with nicenic.net, bought 2 domains and they got suspended the next day when I didn't even use them, I didn't understand much about unsuspending them so I left it. All I could do is leave a bad review.

Been using porkbun, recently they started banning some words they do not like for unknown reasons and without any explanation - had to move part of it to namecheap
i used them for more then 5 years but never face such things. excellent provider. just quite using them when they increased price.
