And now Anydesk doesn't allow connections from free accounts to iOS/iPadOS devices :(
Any suggestions for free or cheap alternatives for low usage?

I have always used AnyDesk without an account lol. Just start it and type in the ID of the remote device.

As it was mentioned before (see quoted post below for link), if you have the latest version of the app for iOS or iPadOS on the device that you are trying to connect to, it doesn't work with free accounts or without an account.
It would only work if the app on iOS or iPadOS is not updated.

Furthermore, a paid outgoing client is required to connect to iOS/iPadOS devices.

Is it possible to still install the older iOS app, and use it for free?

Officially not. Unofficially there might be a way, but even if it still works, it is more complicated than the tasks that the users would require support for.

Not sure that I understand. I am looking for free or cheap alternative to Anydesk and you are referring to Anydesk's licenses, out of which the free one cannot be used to connect to iOS/iPadOS devices and the other ones are too expensive for occasional use.

  • Try this option, where for recurring and non-commercial connections they release it for free
