Mine went to spam as well.
The whole IP thing is a bit strange. I have a plan in Germany. The IP is shown to be russian and belonging to a romanian registrar:
inetnum 109.163.224.0 - 109.163.239.255
netname RO-VOXILITY-20110916
descr Voxility S.R.L.
country RO
org ORG-VS46-RIPE
admin-c AT4216-RIPE
tech-c SS7482-RIPE
status ALLOCATED PA
mnt-by RIPE-NCC-HM-MNT
mnt-lower VOXILITY-MNT
mnt-routes VOXILITY-MNT
source RIPE # Filtered
Traceroute ends at an IP that belongs to burst.net:
9 de16.rt9.hostnoc.net (109.163.238.67) 45.682 ms 47.360 ms 45.091 ms
Those IPs are registered with Voxility, who are based in Romania, but you shouldn't see Russia anywhere.
They do route straight to Ancotel in Frankfurt, however:
10 voxility-srl.ethernet8-1.ar4.fra4.gblx.net (208.178.247.30) 198.974 ms 176.434 ms
lag2.ar4.fra4.gblx.net (67.16.145.242) 171.806 ms
11 de14.rt8.hostnoc.net (109.163.238.2) 176.135 ms 177.354 ms 175.709 ms
Does Burstnet run the German DC that you use now? hostnoc.net is burst.net isnt it?
@JoeMerit The "hostnoc.net" is actually used in the interest of anonymity for our resellers, though I now realize it is being mistaken for Burst.net.
The German colocation provider is Ancotel GmbH, at Kleyerstrasse 88-90: http://www.ancotel.com/en/home/
I see. It is only a Firefox plugin that reports the IP to be located in Russia. Just out of interest: What has hostnoc (burst.net) got to do with it? Don't get me wrong: Everything is fine with the VPS - as well as your customer service which seems to be fast and friendly. I am just curious...
Scratch that. You were faster than me...
