Mounting ISO is the first chapter in the book of setting up a VPS.

It should be if you are doing it from scratch without the help of panels and all.

I don't think most VPS providers would let you mount a custom ISO. Anyways, all the major OS images are already provided in the panel.

I think you can do it easily if you know the know-how ;)

Now, I am genuinely curious. The only way I can think of doing this is, by installing an OS on the VPS, mounting an ISO and then booting off of it. But, I am not sure how the BIOS could even detect an ISO that was mounted in the OS, much before the BIOS. Correct me, if I am wrong.

Waiting for the chef... and everything will become beautiful B)

The chef decided to make a return after we were able to convince dustin that there was a huge demand. If we can rake up some demand, there's a small chance that the chef might return even though he has been sending us awesome giveaways and deals, left and right for 2 days!

And it went downhill after I joined? JK there's no much demand for the GA hence the CHEF's resting up.

I hope he's resting to return with a bang!

  • The average person will spend six months of their life waiting for red lights to turn green.

  • The word "nerd" was first coined by Dr. Seuss in "If I Ran the Zoo" in 1950.

  • Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't. In botanical terms, berries are defined as fleshy fruits produced from a single ovary, and bananas fit this description.

You are right but it's easier in QEMU/KVM while next to impossible in OVZ.

Yes. And, I don't think most VPSes do provide that option, unless they are those extremely expensive or, maybe dedi.
