@OVH_APAC any love for existing customers with basically the same spec servers? would prefer not to go through the charade of cancelling existing service, ordering new service, and transferring files.

OVH would never do that because then they wouldn’t get their hefty setup fee on a server that’s been sat in a rack for years waiting for the automatic deployment.

It works out OK if you're planning to keep the server for a while.

It'll end up being just few $ per month if you keep the server for few months.
Sill great value when compared to other offers. My advice is buy it if you need it, they'll disappear fast.

  • Hi @OVH_APAC , can you use internal IPs between servers?

Especially interested to know if communication between VPS & dedicated servers (or dedicated to dedicated) servers is possible via internal IP vs public IP. I'm looking to create a cluster in Canada East cost if so.

Hi @OVH_APAC , can you use internal IPs between servers?

Especially interested to know if communication between VPS & dedicated servers (or dedicated to dedicated) servers is possible via internal IP vs public IP. I'm looking to create a cluster in Canada East cost if so.

As long as they are in the same account and have the option of vrack, you can connect the cloud and the dedicated servers.
I have this setup. It was a bit of a challenge getting the right vlan i wanted, but the horizon console worked quite nice.
    See https://help.ovhcloud.com/csm/en-dedicated-servers-vrack-pci-ds?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0043984

„So you start“ and „Kimsufi“ and normally also the rise servers don’t have a private vrack option.
Then you can go for wireguard or any other vpn solution of your choice.

    I have math problems
On VPS LE 1, you advertise a 5€ normal price with 27% discount on 2 years
    5x24 = 120€
    120€ - 27% = 87,6€
But on billing screen, it shows 96,29€

Seeing how you're quoting euros, did you forget to account for VAT?

    No VAT in both

    No recurring discount :'(

    Hello @Jones ,
All dedicated server deals are recurring offers (valid as long as you keep your server)
For VPS deals, if you take a 12-month plan, the discounted price is recurring for 12 months. (and 24 months with a 24-month plan).
    Hope this clarifies

I am first time user and interested in a dedicated server but under it it state:
"Special offer valid for all new orders (excluding renewals)"
So if I take 35eur dedicated server without commitment it will be recurring price?

Also I am new user but can not get coupon to remove server setup fee

renewal != recurring (renewal is when you have an active service and pay your invoice for the next month)
So yes, it's recurring for new orders but can't be applied to existing services (called renewals).

Hello @Niro , just adding more info about the private network to create clusters of servers: https://www.ovhcloud.com/asia/network/vrack/
As mentionned by @wedge1001 , not all servers have this capability. You will find private network on cloud instances within our public cloud (pay as you go scalable servers) and also on baremetal servers from the range: Advance, Scale, Storage and High-grade.
and exceptionally on some of the RISE Limited edition dedicated server currently on sale (-:
    Hope this helps

HEllo @JamesF , not sure to understand the question here.. VPS are shared resources VS dedicated server which are single tenant server.
OVHcloud offers a 99.9% SLA across the VPS ranges and 99.9% to 99.99% SLA on Dedicated server (depending which range you choose).
    Hope this helps

I am looking for cloud based hourly VMs ( 4 vCores, 16 GB RAM, 100 GB SSD) [about 15 to 30 instances] with option to shutdown running instance and bring up instances to continue from same state when it was shutdown, but not to pay for instance non running hours, ready to pay for instance storage (volumes) when not running.

I do corporate training, I need to provide Lab to student, I use Hetzner which works fine. However Hetzner would charge for paused/shutdown instances until we terminate it. Terminating instance will remove the storage (OS etc). Snapshot and creating new image will reset root new password.

Europe/Singapore location is best. I am from India.

    Hello @gks
Yes, this is possible on public cloud. You can do "shelving" on openstack . In this case you will be charged by snapshot usage during the shelve duration. You can refer to this guide: https://help.ovhcloud.com/csm/en-public-cloud-compute-shelve-pause-instance?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0051262.
You can chose among multiple locations for your cloud servers including Singapore (we also intend to open India in 2024!)
    Hope this helps

    Hi,

I am one of your customers that is being forced to migrate to a new VPS plan at the end of the year.

If I don't migrate, then my services will be terminated.

How do I migrate to these discounted plans? When I click on 'Migrate to the new range', I am presented with the normal price for Value and Essentials VPS plans.

I do not wish to sign up for a VPS from scratch or I will lose my IP address.

    Hello @FiLThYFreaK ,
The migration option will only give you the standard monthly pricing indeed. Once you have migrated you can choose to commit for 12 or even 24months, but this will be offered at the usual discount rate (respectively 8 and 15% off). The Black Friday offers are only for new VPS (= new IP indeed).

@OVH_APAC Hey, your code 'BFSETUP' doesn't work. It just errors with 'not eligible' even know I've just made the account.

same here, area ie can not use it for any discount

Hello @TomasSystems and @emengweb , could you advise the server you were trying to buy?
The code "BFSETUP" works fine for SYS, RISE, ADVANCE, GAME servers but it seems there are some issues indeed to apply it on KS Limited Edition servers )-: Sorry about this issue and will help to get this solved asap.

    Ks-Le-2 Best for me!

Ok thanks for confirming, issue will be solved later today.
