I have tested their KZ location since about a month ago in their call-to-test (and won 1 month extension) . I can vouch for it. The network speeds were good and VM itself is snappy.

    One question from community:
What's the special value in "rare" locations for a VPS?

    A) flex
    B )

but yeah some countries have better laws for hosting copyrighted content than others and ofc as said before, better ping to some locations. but eh, without ipv6, ain't that interesting.

    edit lmao B) becomes B)

@tsoft said: But traffic anyway goes to Moscow then returns back...

Currently Kazakhtelecom has common points of presence in Moscow, Frankfurt and Hong Kong. They haven't directly peered or landed with an Russian ISP in the Siberia region. Hence you will find that the traffic is routed to the Moscow PoP first when you are trying to reach destinations on the West side of the map.

Not everything is routed directly to Moscow. Kazakhtelecom has access to terrestrial cables that cross through China to connect with a Hong Kong PoP, which is handed over to Level 3/PCCW. See below.

Also not everything via Moscow is going into m9-ix... There is peering to DATA-IX, PITER-IX as well or to China Mobile RU.

There is no such policy in Kazakhstan. United States copyright law is not applicable for this country. Our policy allows you to host content as "per laws of where the server is located".

    Hope this clarifies.

It is not blocked in Kazakhstan, but blocked in Russia. And you cannot open this site in > Kazakhstan

ISP traffic from KT is routed via russia and there undergo censorship.

It is not blocked on our network. I have tested this - see below. It is routed within KZ CloudFlare and not to Russia.

Weird. Cannot open it from Almaty.

I see they have blocked it in Kazakhstan by court order.

I asked the provider, why such weird routing from Novosib, they said due to insanse ddoses they routed everything via Moscow :(

Is it screenshot really from your vps in KZ? Strange, how they bypass court order.

Your Pavload DC is known as a modern one. Maybe they do not block.

Will buy your vps for proxies :D Good location.

Yes it is from our VM in KZ.
I've setup Wireguard using the angristan script available on Github, and tested it using it with no issues...

Amazing... You should sell it on KZ or RU forums :D A lot of people need remote desktops or personal vpns.

rutracker should be blocked in KZ by court order, I cannot open it from KT or non-KT providers.

Maybe this exact DC is unrestricted for some reason (it is the top dc in KT).

    Tried from proxies in KZ.

This one from Shymkent (on KT)

This one on PS hosting (non-KT)
    https://bgp.tools/prefix/78.40.109.0/24#connectivity
    Both block rutracker

Thank you for the feedback - we will look into this opportunity.

  • Two very tempting locations indeed :+1:
