in my humble opinion posting random crap like welcome to page xyz or random irrelevant pictures
but thats my opinion
thankies
The algorithm on the stats page uses Levenshtein distance to measure comment similarlty as explained by @MrEd . That may have something to do with it.
I understand, and I can also see where the others are coming from with their point of view. Obviously the final say is up to Dustin to decide, and, as you've already stated, he's allowed it in the past.
Personally, I feel like the palettes are at least a step above just straight up spamming the thread. At least they're unique, took time for him to assemble and upload to his website, and they're not something you can find elsewhere. It'd be nice if it tied in to the thread a little better, but @FrankZ did explain that there are a lot of web developers and owners here, and palettes could be necessary for them. I think that's a pretty decent explanation.
At any rate, did I miss a post where you explained or even shared the exact code that you're using to determine the difference between a unique and non-unique post? I'd say that's quite important for anyone to determine for themselves if your tracking is even valid.
For example, is it checking every image link or post content exactly the same, or would it determine that any post that only includes an image is identical? Your stats may be leaning heavily against @FrankZ even though a majority of the images he's posted are different.

I really don't mind either way.
Its clear that some would and some clearly have. But that is human nature for you.
guess so, not going for main prize
just guess chatting
As I said yesterday. If it was in the first post that similar content would be discounted then fine but its not and that's something for those that post giveaways and competitions to take on board and consider for next time.

I am currently sat here knowing I have to go out again as I have all week and continue to sort out my stock room before the big delivery on Monday.
I ache. I am sore. I don't wanna. So I am chatting here but really I should get ready and go

Doubt they would post a laptop to the UK anyway I think it says that?
I don't want that sort of credit balance with RN either.
It wouldn't be an upgrade for my current laptop either so I don't need it.
Thanks for sharing your opinion again, and sorry that I missed it yesterday.

Spam or not that would be for admins to decide but in the end everything counts mostly. There is no point to scan through the thread looking for potential spammy comments.
Easily done. You can miss a lot when you come back and its 60+ pages further in
Hello, I would like to double the bandwidth.
Order: 1173593630
Thanks!
this is why we need a filter
Right im outta here. This work isnt gonna do itself. Have fun everyone.
i dont mind credits, will use them anways... but yeah
ant ship a laptop to germany
But the hard work is being done by dustinc himself, looking for the double bandwidth requests among the sea of noise to not miss one. That is hectic.
just like every year
Okay, now this I can certainly get behind. I have a hard time trying to justify how this follows the note from the participation post:

five pages are missing

I did explain it here. I hope it is clear enough how it works, but as mentioned in the comment, it has its flaws which I will try to get around (maybe with distance < 3 == similar)
3rd bf here
never has anyone been disqualified
either way it's a bad situtaion for all of us
Anyway, I'm off to bed. I hope you all have a wonderful day or night, whichever it is currently wherever you are. > @MrEd said:
Thanks for drudging up your previous post, I had figured you already explained it, but there are far too many pages. I appreciate it, thank you.
I'm not sure if you share your code publicly anywhere, but I'd love to have a look, at least for this part of it. I'm just genuinely curious, it's an interesting problem to solve. It sounds like you're still making adjustments to it?
