XerozTech lies about its Unlimited Bandwidth (only 1TB month)

  • This is a good example of what happens when two sides interpret things differently.

OP just reads "unlimited" and interprets that as he can move as much data as he wants.
The provider adds "fair use" and thinks that they have been clear that users can not move as much data as they want.

The term "fair use" should always be accompanied with a link to further explanation of exactly what the provider thinks "fair use" means, and users should always look up that information before buying.

  • I had a similar thing with CloudV back when they started. That was listed as "Unlimited Data Transfer" but when I purchased it, they'd stuck a 2TB limit on it. I queried it, and got a similar BS "Yeah, we'll reset it if you go over".

This just added to other concerns about the company, such as pretending to be a UK company and selling through it, but then receiving an invoice from an Indian company instead, but all these things worked together to make me feel I couldn't trust the provider with anything after that.

It wasn't even about the fact I'd wasted money - when I had my VPS giveaway for machines I didn't need any more, all of them were worth more than the annual cost of this one but I still gave them away for free. But this one had left me with such a sour taste, that I didn't even want to give this VPS away even though it had 8 months left to go, because I didn't want to cause anyone else have to deal with this company, and so just left it idling instead.

  • "Fair use" tags are all a joke.

I think it's fair to say that this is just an unfair use of the term 'fair use'.

    Well yea "Fair use"

    But

    1TB???

  • Just a quick update, I'm still stuck on the bandwidth limit, even after asking for another 1TB. More than 24 hours have passed and still nothing. More idling time, I guess.

@SmartHost said: OK, so you pay 1.50€ and expect to be able to use 10TB?

Looks like they have jacked up the prices by more than double as well.
Earlier the yearly base plan was available for 14 EUR, now it's 30.

    Here's the email I got

    Price Increase:

We would like to inform you about some adjustments to our pricing structure. The new pricing for each VPS tier is available on our website. You can find detailed information about the price increase by visiting Xeroz.tech Pricing.

Do know that if you are on the old price that the price will be changed to the new price once your payment period is over. (1 Payment period = For example, if I purchase a VPS for 1 year, that represents 1 payment period.)

  • Ohh..I'm about to try their server.. thank you for a warning

  • that why I prefer limited bandwidth and buy more if I need. I once bought unlimited hosting for 60$/year to store images, in the end after 1TB, my account was suspended. It's best to buy something clear. Even if it says unmetered or unlimited, first make sure what the maximum limit is allowed.

Just find a new provider FFS

  • @XerozTech maybe you could clarify.
