I am getting a feeling that rules are more strict for Indian citizens whether you need a SIM card, open a bank account, etc
That probably explains why one can get virtual phone number from many countries, but not Indian phone number.
Seems to be the case. Aadhar isn’t mandatory for any of these and yet you get nagged by every institution to get it attached
Makes no sense.
I was going to say but I am tired of banging my head against a wall lol
Because, may be, the customer has that fear of getting punished even if he is legally right.
We use Digio for KYC.
why bandwidth so expensive in India?
I honestly don't know what @dev_vps is on, NRI but living in India sounds like a fraud? I'm not too sure about it, nor wanna talk about it.
But almost wherever I opened bank accounts, my ID, signature and selfie was required.(Kotak,PayTM,Jio)
I'm an Indian citizen and a resident.
I do not live in India
Brace yourself for a unrelated response as to why you’re wrong lol the dude/dudette is arguing with the provider for abiding by local laws.
Yes bandwidth is bit expensive. Please let me know how much bandwidth you need. I am sure I can provide a better plan.
So you aren't an Indian Citizen nor a Indian resident?
No and No
Not sure, how you made that assumption that I am an NRI and living in India
This is too confusing for this weekend. I'll let the other LET'ers to decide.
dev_vps is not a NRI, but is an Indian Citizen and lives in India.
man fuck this, imma go rest for this weekend.
I am not an Indian citizen
I do not live in India
I am not an NRI
Hopefully that clears your assumptions
Basically, he has a lot of free time.
Do you have IPv6 and IPv9?
Why this Drama is still going on, though provider had admitted his Conditions & Process !.
🥲
worked with many top Indian providers, but no one every asked for KYC. Just CC payment or netbanking NEFT transfer and I got servers! Only once I was asked when colocating server in Relianace datacenter, navi mumbai. But small providers do ask for KYC and such things!
We have IPv6
>
I dont know how you got the server. After seeing your message, I connected with two Meity certified datacenters and they told me it's mandatory for every web hosting and data center company to do KYC for dedicated server, colocation, bandwidth, and VPS service.
Just curious do you have colocation in Chennai? for individuals not business
We are currently in the process of starting the colocation in Chennai. We will live this in very short duration in around 1 month.
is selfie picture requirement mandatory for every hosting provider?
how come vultr does KYC without asking for passport copy and selfie picture
What are the Hardware specs/model of your VPS? Majority of the Indian providers are only using Outdated server HW, So I gotta be careful
As I mentioned, for KYC verification we use withpersona.com, they to KYC by checking ID + selfie. There may be different ways like Aadhar card + OTP, video recording and many more. Vultr must be following some other process.
We are using, Intel E5-2660V3 (40vCPU),Dual Deca Core processor servers

Oh my fucking god dude. Just move the fuck on if you don't wish to do business with this provider. He can have whatever KYC process on his site, doesn't bother anyone here except you.
my 2 cents, Move on.
You're one of the most annoying dudes I've seen on here. Just buzz off. None of your posts make any damn sense. Take your ICICI account and take a hop.
The provider can ask for a urine sample for all I care. You don't want business with him, then just don't give him your money.
