We don't have availability right now for 7000 series or 5000 series, even if we did we wouldn't be able to meet some of these requirements such as vCPU count for the budget. We also don't meet the company age requirements and we are a US company
Nvidia, Intel & AMD H264 encoders suck very bad at lower bitrates.
Im doing x264 slow & ~1.5Mbps in this project, there's no way to achieve good quality at 1.5Mbps with NVENC/AMF/QSV.
If you are saying about CPU-only offers then deploying new instance, installing dependencies, transferring uncompressed video from iPhone will take too much time. Its way more time-effective to do it on the edge, on the same box instead of putting something in between.
I have 2x realtime already (2 minute video that is posted can be published after 1 minute) and I want to cut this time & allow more parallel encodes. We are talking about less than minute from upload to final delivery. There's just no way to spin up new instance and do all the work in same time.
If I would need just parallelization then spinning up couple of nodes may be good idea for long transcodes, but not for short transcodes and not for single transcodes, so basically to improve 33% I would need to worsen 66%. No great solution. Better VPS will help with 100% of work.
We are discussing making multi-node cluster on dedis right now, but I don't know if we should invest that much (it will end up 112euro/mo for 3x Hetzner AX41) if we need mid-grade single VPS and put this extra money in some ad campaigns or whatever.
You have dedicated 4vCPU 5950X & 1TB storage for $24, why wouldn't you be able to sell non-dedicated 4vCPU 7950X & 320GB storage for around $32?
With 7900X/7950X its 4vCPU to reach this performance (8000 GB5 score).
I'm honestly curious why you say its not possible. I can increase pricing no problem btw, seeking for best bang for the buck offer.
I'm asking for 1/4 of Hetzner AX52 for 1/2 of its price. I think its good sustainable pricing and offer for provider.
