Seems like their sales team is closed for the long holiday weekend here in the USA.
But Drew promise me will refund immediately
And in that time is they work time. They just lie.
You fail to understand how payment transactions work. They will refund you. This may take a little bit of time. This will not be instantaneous.
I've been with Hivelocity/Incero since 2015. They've done everything right by me since. They've done their part, leave it up to the financial system.
By "immediately" he means he immediately pressed the "refund customer" button on his end. The money was taken out of Hivelocity's bank account and went to PayPal's account. It takes some time for PayPal to get that money over to your account, so be patient!
Many countries (notably EU) have instant or next-day bank transfers as a standard, but in the US everything takes at least 3 business days (look up ACH if you want more details) to cycle through. They claim it's to give a window to stop fraud transactions from going through (whether we want to believe that is a different/political matter altogether).
TL;DR Sending money is not instant like sending an email is due to how archaic the financial system is (especially in the USA). Just be patient and your money will be there soon. Even when I swipe my card at the grocery store to accept a refund, it takes 3-4 business days for my credit card company to reflect the refunded amount.
Been wanting to try these guys out for a LONG time as I already use the other provider I consider pretty top tier (Tier Net) and both being in Dallas made it very easy to tie my servers together. Gotta thank Dedipath for going Deadpool otherwise I might not have done it
Ordered my server and had it online overnight.. mistakenly put the wrong OS in the setup so had it redone.. took about 15 minutes.
This is very true mostly because for most part what happens is the transaction is stuck in pre-auth status. The vendor cancels the transaction but because it is in progress the financial institutions 'hold' that amount until the auth expires which can be anywhere from 3-7 business days. Even PayPal has become bad about this and just ended 'backup funding from source' which many use for auto payments. They just trashed that too. Now you have to deposit money TO PayPal before you can pay bills. Junk.
Poor hive, got their refugee thread dogpiled lol. Hope they end up coming back anyways.
I believe most people are able to understand the reality of things. Trolls are loud but they live under bridges for a reason. We are not perfect but we have always tried to run a reliable and honest operation that does a lot better than most for its customers. 21 years and counting. We have sold a ton of servers to the LET community over the last few hours, days, weeks and months. We are grateful for all of our new customers and looking forward to the opportunity to work with more of you.
That guy is a clown. I’m in the process of migrating to Hivelocity and they’ve been super helpful through the process.
Can you confirm you have received your refund?
have a few friends that use hivelocity, good uptime and support.
Plot twist: they had the server in stock but prefer to fire you as a customer and refund your money. You're not worth the hassles.
I want to clear things up for the community on this since this user has informed me he will not. We processed the refund last week the moment he asked us to. The $40 of funds made it back to his account Sunday or Monday which is as fast as our processor makes it possible. The user did say he would come back to clear the air himself but only if we sell him a different server. I feel it is best that both parties move on so I have said no to that option. I am sorry we didn't have the server for him in the first place but perhaps that was a blessing in disguise for both of us. No hard feelings. Wishing him well with his future endeavors.
Hi @Hivelocity ,
Can you perhaps offer something in the ballpark of the bellow configuration for two dedi servers?
Location: US
Needs to have an RAID controller and IPMI so ESXi can be installed.
Preferably the two servers should be identical, but not a must.
Ballpark for the configurations:
50 USD/mo:
Dual E5-2670v1
48GB RAM
2x1TB SSD (RAID0 or RAID1)
10Gbps with 10TB per month
5 Usable IP's
60 USD/mo:
Intel Xeon Dual E5-2630L/2620
Bandwidth: 1Gbps Unmetered
Memory: 64GB DDR3 RAM
IP Addresses: /29 IPv4 (5 Usable IPs)
RAID: Hardware RAID 1 (2 Hard Drives Required)
Hard Drive: 2TB SSD
Secondary Hard Drive: 2TB SSD
At first glance this looks like a long shot but let me see what I have and get back to you tomorrow.
I just DMd you on this.
@Hivelocity
Hi Steve!
Checking to see if HiVelocity could please offer something more or less like this deal that I just picked up at Hetzner. €26.70 is about $28.62. Thanks!
Best wishes!
Tom
I would love to see this in the US.
