It doesn’t make sense, surely OVH would just say you broke the T’s + C’s.

I would assume OVH forwarded them a lot of complaints and this is the final straw.

I can't see OVH outta the blue just yeeting someone without cause.

Maybe, but then why keeping the reason to themselves?

Perhaps, but then "repeated ToS/AUP violations" could encompass everything else. No reason at all does not look good. Perhaps the decision was not OVH's but they have been "persuaded" to do it and even keep the reason hidden.

I agree I am a constipation theorist here but no explanation given is bound to raise speculations.

    May I suggest fiber?

Anyways, based on who may be behind them I wonder if it will end up like Canvyy.

    Theoretically, June could work.

Seriously, though, I have had that problem up to 36 yo. So much so that I was only getting worried after 7 days or more.

However, after I had surgery they gave me a bloated course of antibiotics which completely destroyed my aboriginal (my mother had the same issue) intestinal microbiome and got a nosocomial bad case ofclostridium difficile which further compounded the problem and, while it has been horrendous for a while, after I got rid of it and took some probiotic supplements, now the problem is completely solved for some 12 years.

I'll confess, I'm clueless. Who or what is "Spaceberg"?

    Take a look: https://client.spaceberg.cc/

Thanks. So they seem to be a hoster. For the sake of fairness, they smacked this right on top of their web site, and well visible too:

    spaceberg's web site warns:
Important information regarding France VPS plans was sent to your emails. Please check those.
We are aware of a potentially service impacting issue.

  • Here's what Spaceberg explicitly mentioned in his email:

    1. Choosing to migrate should get me 2x what I paid for the server.
    2. The first month should be free if I choose to migrate.

But when I opened a ticket to inquire about migration related issues, the ticket replied:
    1. Please let us know if you would like to have cheaper options or other specs. Like NVMe or bigger/smaller drives/space, so we could offer you another options.
    2. You will receive 8,76 EUR as an account credits.(I purchased the server for 5.56€ for two months.)
    3. We will cover 9 EUR from the dedicated server price if you would like to switch to a dedicated server. (Not the first month free.)

When I further enquired about the price of a dedicated server, they replied that the minimum configuration is the one in the list they gave and that it cannot be customised.

I asked if the balance of the compensation shouldn't be 2x what I paid to the server? They replied that:
Please note, that it's happening on PRO-RATA basis. the amount is indeed correct.

You'll notice that Spaceberg always says one thing and does another when it comes to this matter.

In the end I opted for a refund.

  • the sooner you request for a refund, the higher chance to get it.

If they dropped the ball this badly (assuming the claims that they ignored OVH's emails for so long are true), then continuing to stay with them would be more than idiotic. That's like touching the hot stove twice to see what happens. Take the refund and don't look back. Maybe after a year when they get their stuff together they may be worth looking into again, but I wouldn't put my money or data on a provider whose fate as a provider itself may be in question.

I was close to buying a plan from here given the cheap storage rates and OVH network, but backed off after many people said they had bad experiences with resellers, such as disappearing overnight with the money or failing to pay the invoices of the servers they resell. Even though I am not affected by this, this has been a learning lesson for me as well given how close I was to becoming a customer.

It was a joke I often make, usually related to others, though, like the Jewish lasers lighting fires in the US, the pedophile pizza joints or other, similar, Q-Annon style stuff.

Definitely not free at first. Whatever credits you have will be used and you need to create a separate ticket later asking about it.

Not in my case. My invoice was marked as paid immediately and not a cent was taken from my double credit

Support sorted me out within minutes of me asking about options. Whatever happened happened, but I cannot say Spaceberg's support people are anything less than stellar.

I know a lot of you opinionated people will say I'm an idiot for sticking with them but I genuinely have no reason not to. If I get burnt at least I'm paying monthly and can afford to lose what I put in.

Cool. From Discord, I learned that there are multiple people experiencing the same issue. Why the double standards though?

Yeah I guess the two (2) people on Discord that got unlucky will have to wait a day or so. Win some, lose some.

Putting a clear message that either honor first month free or credit card dispute will be filed along with copy of email message

Suddenly they will act more professionally and support will be “stellar” as well

No clue what does it prove or disprove in case of spaceberg, but I can assure you "Varlamov" or "Varlamovs" ir not latvian surname. It is russian (slavic) origin surname. That russian person might live in Latvia (or elsewhere in post-USSR), thats true and yes, latvians add "s" in the end of original russian surnames, in this case Варламов (which is original writing in cyrillic) becomes "Varlamovs" even in official documents.

  • Now then, this has been over a month now. How did they handle the refund process and deploying replacement services to customers affected? Anyone still waiting for a refund? According to discord, quite a few are still waiting.

I got my dedi + credit minutes after asking, and its been smooth sailing. Uptime is 100%

  • I didn't get my refund after a month. They kept giving excuses about how their PayPal account is frozen and that they have too many chargebacks on PayPal. Pretty much telling me I'm SOL. After I told them how absurd this it, they pretty much told me to open a dispute via PayPal and that they wouldn't counter my dispute. I did that and got my refund via PayPal pretty damn quick.

Looking at their discord, paypal has disabled their account. Seems like they are done unless they have a different payment provider. Gone for good I guess.

They confirmed that their account is in the negative. They also told me that all orders paid via PayPal right now goes into that negative balance. They also said they're unable to top up their PayPal balance due to "issues" with whatever top up method that's available to them. I was thinking like, to hell with the excuses and went ahead with the dispute on PayPal as even Spaceberg are telling me to do this.

This is the fastest I've ever seen an operation turn into a dumpster fire and whoever is still using their services should GTFO immediately before you're burned again. Literally just go to Scaleway/Online.net/Hetzner which is what they're reselling. And if you're still waiting for a refund just open a dispute on PayPal before even PayPal stops refunding you from Spaceberg's negative balance aka PayPal's own funds.
