OK, I will contact them.
Yes it is. It's the Cloud VPS S for 4,49€. For the price, that's amazing and seems to beat the VDS at pretty much everything except 4k and 64K IOPS.
Yes, I guess. However, I am not very smart on this but as far as I understand there shouldn't really be a noticeable effect unless I run large databases. For my Nextcloud / Media server / low visitor site I think the price is unbeatable.
They replied quite soon to my ticket saying that all the nodes in their facility have the same Intel CPU..
It's a shame that a migration is not possible but I don't see any practical difference in the performance of my applications compared to netcup. So I will keep it for now since it's cheaper and see how it goes.
Well, "cloud VPS" has "new" tag on site, so probably this is their newest line and they are repurposing old nodes as VDS.
Like I said on their VDS you have your own drive, there is no neighbors so ofc disk performance is amazing. People commenting were referring to Cloud VPS clearly.
I'm not sure why you're suprised that you got Intel tho, they clearly mention it on site "based on the HPE APOLLO 4200 GEN10 SERVERS are operated in webtropia.com's own data center with redundant infrastructure and have the latest INTEL XEON SCALABLE PROCESSORS"
I guess I missed that. I thought that the cores were also dedicated, but support also said it's just the drive. I have always seen virtual dedicated = dedicated cores/threads, never seen a VDS with only the drive dedicated. Anyway for the time being I am happy with the server, and will keep it for now. I have the 14 days time window to cancel it but if it's like this consistently then it's decent and at a cheap price.
Keep us updated!
10Gbps port looks great, curious how much TB you need to use before they compain...
Yep will write an update in a while
@vitobotta , i used them like 5 years ago , i have a question did they still ask ID today to get their products ? Thanks
Yea they asked it and the order was processed very quickly once I gave my id
VDS is a term interpreted many different ways (at least that's been my experience), so can't hurt to read how your hosting provider interprets it.
As for webtropia, this is explained here.
Isn't it 1Gbps though?
It should be, but my tabs shows much higher speeds
Lucky then
Enjoy as long as it lasts :P
No, you don't.
Only on physical items, anything automated/"virtual" isn't covered by that.
Refunds/etc are handled by company rules, not forced by law in most cases.
Yes, you do.
You can even take loan online, cancel it and have basically free loan for month (14d+14d).
Only digital things you cannot return are things you consumed - movies or games.
Obviously every EU country enforce this differently, but the above makes NO sense.
Sweden, as an EU country, have even stronger protection online compared to in-store.

The law covers digital purchases as well, excluded music/movies etc.
Hey is there any update on this as of June '23?
Did you end up regretting the purchase ?
Also if you did apply for a refund - how was the process?
When I tried webtropia in 2020 i had 10/10gbps too if i remember correctly. it's not a lottery like ovh.
The problem is that the speed is never the same, and sometimes it drops even below the guaranteed 200
Hmm, the activation and provisioning is manual here on Webtropia?
Got one today, cheapest one. You can get it for 5.5 eur plus if you pay by paypal another 0.27euro fee but it's prepaid and no renewal after 30 days unless I pay for another 30 days.
So far, 20% usual steal time. iowait can be high.
Yabs as someone posted before me.
Single core about 800
Multicore (4 cores) 1800
GB6
Waiting for amd epyc move if possible, will update.
Comparing steal is hard since it may vary a lot and also highly depends on your load.
Yes, all cores used. 20% steal time.> @emgh said:
Yes, all cores used. 20% steal time.
I usually use this for fast check dd if=/dev/zero | md5sum
But then comes to question, is that the lowest steal time (usually much worse) or the highest steal time (usually much better)?
Is it node specific?
And finally, does your application need more performance?
Nothing against you, I just see a lot of people sharing detailed numbers about this and that when in the end, the only interesting question is if it’s sufficient for what you’re running.
The problem with vps and programming is you never know if vps has problems or it's your app. We are talking about cheap vps you probably can guess are oversold.
I'm not using vps for production stuff, only dedicated servers.
About webtropia vps, I'm not actually going to use is for production stuff. It's more of a test.
Just ordered Webtropia Cloud VPS S - SSD Version - 4.99 EURO

I jumped the bullet about a week ago and got the cheap 5 euros cloud VPS small instance. I think I got lucky with my instance, the Geekbench score is absolutely insane for the price.
I looked at this guy's Yabs and bought them for 5 bucks.
CPU is freaking good. https://bot.ax/bdJHg
Even better then many LET providers. Sorry guys.
Steal is 1% at the moment with a small db server on it. Let's see if it remains like that.
I have also been running a couple of Webtropia VPS for two months now, rock solid performance and the price is unbelievable.
I am new to LET so I am wondering why so many negative reviews on them here? Maybe I should wait for the other shoe to drop?
But so far absolutely nothing to complain about, even the email support is prompt.
