How many VPS or dedicated servers do you guys currently have?

Hi folks,

I am curious about how many dedicated servers or VPS you guys have. I actually feel like I might have too many things, but all of them have a different purpose.

  • 2x VPS on Contabo
  • 3x VPS on Ethernet Servers
  • 3x VPS on Racknerd
  • 4x Oracle Virtual Private Servers "for playing".
  • 1x Nethost24 shared hosting

I have to say that I am happy with all of them, the VPS performance of all those mentioned above is satisfactory for me.

  • Oh boy, I've got 31 VMs, ALL BEING IDLE. I have to get rid of some.

  • 1 VPS on Contabo - just canceled, the machine was fine, 200gb SSD storage great but 200mbit connection became a limiting factor

1 VPS on prohosting24 - Amazing BF deal, seems okay so far

1 VPS on buyvm - 512mb yearly VPN exit node

1 VPS on greencloud - idle

1 VPS on Servarica - storage

    1 VPS on 1NEXTNET - idle

  • wow! so I am not the only one! hahaha but @noisycode, 31 VPS is a lot!

  • Instead of 31 VPS, one can probably get a pretty beefy dedicated server.

Then, if you're really into voluminous idling business, you can always slice it into many idling VPS. :D

I was considering doing the same for myself, but I understand that keeping all projects on different machines reduces the risk of downtime.

Reduces the risk of downtime sure, but also increases complexity which could lead to more downtime. Can't win :(

Man, that is really impressive! Especially if it's all personal stuff only, I wonder if anybody will be able to beat that.

Any business ideas with all that data like selling some service, or definitely just hobby?

Just a hobby, accepting any sort of money for my projects would feel against my morals.

  • I have
1 netcup RS1000 (ostern S) from Easter offer. Here's my website and services that I offer to my friends. It has an unbeatable strong network performance, so I use it as a jump host too my Kimsufi.
1 KS-LE-1 2022, the network is not the best, but the high SSD storage with dedicated resources very good. IPv6 network is not limited (1000/1000 Mbps), so I use netcup as a jump host, I connect here with IPv4, I can reach 480--500 Mbps speeds. I use it for my personal needs since I don't have home server.

And I missed the SYS-LE-1 offer at OVH BlackFriday so I'm thinking on to buy a dedi with 1 TB NVMes from Hetzner auction. It is more expensive than the OVH BlackFriday offer, but network is much better.

It is a very special hobby:D if I will satisfied with Hetzner I don't need the Kimsufi anymore but for this price it is a very decent offer so hard decision to cancel it. I will keep the netcup RS anyway, for this price (under 11 Euros) the 8 G RAM 320 G SSD and 2,5 Gbps network with Anexia peering avesome. So my Kimsufis future is the question:D

That is really impressive! Actually I see huge numbers here from many people.

I am just wondering why @paijrut and @eris have reseller hosting. May I ask why not to do it yourself on a VPS? is cPanel maybe the main reason?

For me everything started on reseller hosting, when my client needs to be hosted on vps or DS it means that server is for that specific client only.
