    We dont have the exact ETA yet, we will need to settle a deal with the DC first.

    Of course, if you have contacted 国家网信部门 and have received their approval for your overseas hosting, then I humbly apologise for my ignorance.

    But I very much doubt you have, because if you had, they wouldn't block your IP address, would they?

    I guess it depends how you interpret 关键, but my understanding from reading someone else's analysis is that anything that is intended to be relied upon by Chinese nationals or that stores personal information of Chinese nationals is covered.

    And if you're not doing either of those things, chances are the government would be suspicious of why you need an overseas VPS anyway.

    New UK server purchased (3 years), ticket opened and responded to within 10 minutes. Now have
    4C, 16GB RAM and 16TB B/W.
    Have an older server which had a disk problem (all data lost) and GC extended service free for a further 6 months. This server apart from the disk issue has been flawless. Problems happen and it is how they are resolved that is important. So I am fine purchasing for another 3 years plus with the energy price increases I feel it is worth taking the slight risk.
