Just curious, why not Seafile nor Nextcloud?
I use Nextcloud, but if you're searching for alternatives you may want to take a look at:
im not a fan of webdav for security
I find the rclone list useful
https://rclone.org/overview/
I thought nextcloud data could be hashed and sent via TLS. I always considered it reasonably good security.
AjaXplorer was amasing, we had that integrated. Then they rebranded as pydio and it got bloated, very bloated. Now we use "single file php filemanager" some guy made to keep that simple
But ultimately for backups, all you need is a SSH box and rsync
i would use rsync but i'd like to share files from the box too.
Seafile doesn't use WebDAV normally.
It has its own protocol.
Mentally strong people use plain SFTP though.
This dude fucks.
For backups (like archive files)? Or something more? When someone says backup, I think SFTP/SCP/RSYNC which is probably not the case.
I guess you want something to preview files etc?
