I bought a dedicated server, but apparently they gave me a virtual machine

This is not related, I've used Anydesk on VMs without VGA many times.
Install the xserver-xorg-video-dummy package to have a dummy VGA output.

Thanks a lot for the help, I'll try

My initial thought was (somewhat tongue-in-cheek):

Why does it matter if everything works as expected and you are getting all of the performance you expect? Is there a "Turing Test" for dedicated servers? :-)

(Yes, I read the previous message where you explained your anydesk software problem. For you, everything is not working as expected.)

Can you disable and enable VGA and PCI on the true dedicated server to see if anydesk fails and then works again? It might answer the question about whether that is the root cause of your anydesk issues on the other servers.

I never liked problems where the hardware folks blame the software folks and vice versa. On one project we tracked a problem down to a bug in a very widespread, well-known processor chip. It took weeks to figure it out, and just as long to prove to the manufacturer that it was their bug. Once they were convinced, it did not take long to fix the bug and increment the rev level.

Online Labs SR is usually the OEM manufacturer of small Atom C2750 boxes.
Did you buy from online.net or a reseller? IPs should say "Online SAS".

I bought it on oneprovider, on the ip "Online SAS" where can I find this information?

The strange thing is that I bought 3 servers with the same configuration, but only on the first server the name "SuperMicro" is Ok and VGA and PCI audio are Ok. The other 2 machines return manufacturer name "Online Labs" and don't work VGA or PCI audio.

Are the second and third machines virtual?

They sold you a dedicated server and as far as they're concerned it is. It probably is. It's old online.net junk. OneProvider is a reseller.

whose servers are they selling ?

    Mostly online.net and psychz.

I've never understood how they could possibly have enough profit margin to stay alive.

Initially I thought that the lack of VGA and PCI audio was related to anydesk, but according to another friend's tip, I managed to configure a fake graphic, so regarding the graphic I managed to "work".

My question was, if both servers had the same settings, why does one server have VGA and anydesk works fine and the other does not have VGA and dont work anydesk? But the other friend also answered about it, according to the other friend, buying servers like this is "Russian Roulette", so you can get something buggy or non-buggy.

Apparently everything has been clarified, I can't expect anything so good about this low-price offer, the servers seem to be performing well (although I haven't fully utilized it yet), the network is OK, and the oneprovider support despite being slow has been friendly.

If it's any consolation, the ones without VGA probably have more free memory as the on-board graphics on most machines steals a chunk of RAM even though you'll never have anything plugged in.

probably everyone. I know they resell kimsufi servers.

Ok so I bought a cheap one for testing and unlike Ovh, they didn’t charge VAT/GST and no id verification crap too.

  • Hi, OneProvider list their virtual dedicated servers alongside their proper dedicated servers. It's a little confusing. Contabo (another that I know of) also offer VDS's but it's much clearer what exactly you get on their site.

no id verification for ovh for me, but oneprovider wanted id verification. so it's the opposite for me.

I think it's a random thing. Sometimes their fraud check just sees something in your browser it doesn't like, and voila, you are flagged

Ask them to fix the issue. if they can't, and you're not satisfied just issue/ask for a refund. (it should be easy if you used PayPal)
