Can I use ipv6 with other providers?
Read the rules
https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/137719/lowendtalk-community-rules-updated-may-2022/p1
Link is here: https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/160162/the-aio-ip-related-thread-ipv4-ipv6-asn-only-providers-are-allowed-to-post-offers-2
This post should be removed.
For the time being, we're not applying this rule strictly, because it's all too easy to miss that thread in the current format. (This will change in the new format)
Fair enough. I'm still going to be a bit of a stickler about it though until the official changes occur.
yes of cause, you can create a route object and use on ASN you want. Your own ASN or a Providers ASN.
Guide about route objects:
https://www.bgp.cat/internet/protocol/border_gateway#tab-route
we will post there thanks
Just purchased a /44 - I've got to say... their onboarding journey is absolutely seamless. You add them as a maintainer on your ORG, and it will automatically assign/allocate the v6 /44 to you with the details you provide. took me 3-4 minutes from loading their website to having the /44 resource in my RIPE portal.
Did you have to submit any id proof to purchase this?
Nope.
Unsure whether they're doing fraud/AML checks on the geo data / information provided / payment method in the background, and then flag anything if it raises suspicion.
That thread is now prominent again, but I think that we'll let this thread stay open since it's attracted some interest and it was started before that thread was made prominent again
(But moving forward, the rule will be applied strictly again)
Bitcoin disabled for asn registration?
Hello
No you can pay all of our services via paypal, bank-transfer, alipay and bitcoin if you wish.
But keep in mind for Autonomous System Numbers (ASNs) RIPE require ID verification.
How the assignment process work can be found here:
https://www.securebit.ch/internet/resources/autonomous_system
I'm a resident outside of RIPE region, if I want to get an ASN in RIPE, what should I provide? Can I use local ID card?
Hey, if I buy my own IP can I use it on any VPS or my home network? I am not really sure how these work
Hello you can use your local ID of cause. RIPE require an active service in RIPE region, like a virtual server or tunnel. You need to provide invoice and possible documentation about that.
We recommend to use an ix server from us in Zurich Switzerland.
Hello
You can use the prefix on our virtual or ix server, we can route the prefix for you to the main IP.
If you want to use another vps from another ISP you need an tunnel from us, a provider support your own IP space like Vultr or you need an ASN with BGP and IP-Transit.
You can find out more about BGP here:
https://bgp.cat/internet/protocol/border_gateway
@securebit i spoke to a vps provider, this is their answer
We can announce IP space on our network, assuming a route object and LOA is being provided (which IP suppliers will always do).
Is it something possible with you?
Of cause that is possible, you need to add your Maintainer to MNT-ROUTES in Cloud Manager for your IPv6 Prefix, details can be found here:
https://www.bgp.cat/internet/protocol/border_gateway#tab-inetnum
Then you are able to create ROUTE/ROUTE6 objects in RIPE Database, details described here:
https://www.bgp.cat/internet/protocol/border_gateway#tab-route
LOA(s) for your Prefixes can be downloaded in Cloud Manager in the Internet Resources / Documents Section:
https://www.securebit.cloud/manage/internet/resources#docs
The rules say "we recommend" not "we require".
That writing seems to have been updated since I last posted that, so please note the last change date. While I can't say for certainty everything has remained constant, there has been flux with that specific line item since this post was made.
However, historically these posts have been closed and/or removed and pointing the original poster to go to the AIO IP thread. As you've noticed (and the posts from a moderator on this thread) there was wordings about policy changes.
does someone knows how to change the currency to USD?
For example, you can pay via PayPal in USD.
PayPal will convert the CHF amount into USD for you.
