    Biscuits

Ooo, I like biscuits. What’s your favourite?

    Bojangles Bo Berries Biscuits

The closest Bojangles is like 2 hours north in Gainsville, but it's worth the drive every single time.

I want to go to this mythical paradise.

they seem to have made vps online for taking backups.
only for few hours/days (temporary) before hivelocity pulls the plug of maxkvm.

  • FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    TO: ALL MAXKVM CUSTOMERS

We've all seen this before. You just got back from a period of extended downtime. Your servers are back up. This has sucked, but now you're back online right? It's going to be fine right?

We don't know. But just in case it might be prudent to take backups ASAP. For all we know, this could be temporary (after all, MaxKVM basically told their entire customer base to email Hivelocity, it's not likely that they're willing to stick around long-term). So please do a backup. Right now. Not this weekend. Not tomorrow. Right. Now. You don't know what will happen. Maybe they told MaxKVM that he has a few days longer to figure it out. Who knows. What we do know is that MaxKVM has not been communicating with you, the customer, about anything (this problem, what's going on, etc.).

I'd highly recommend everyone please backup your servers.

    Sincerely, your friendly neighborhood Pie

@MaxKVM Im not changing the title because you are using your customers as poker chips. You should of worked this out in a professional manner behind closed doors. Then you should really tell the customers the real reason for their services not working accordingly. Trying to get @Hivelocity to cave in to your lack of ability to run business in a professional manner.

Your role isn't 'strict and punishing mom' or 'judge'. It's 'moderator'. What you just did is basically declaring @MaxKVM fair game (which may be well deserved but again, your role isn't 'judge (Dredd)' ...)

@maxkvm I can probably guess you were warned plenty of times of issue which you probably didn’t address on your part.

Highly likely yes, his whole attitude smells like that.

    @MaxKVM

I've seen at least one "MaxKVM down" kind of thread and I remember being astonished that you did not comment and inform at all. Similarly in this thread you utterly ignore solidly justified requests to inform your customers properly and fully but rather focus on egotistical vanity and petty issues.
Plus, to make it worse, you try to publicly throw mud at @Hivelocity, obviously hoping that some of it might stick.

Short, you ignore your customers and waste your - and our - time with smearing attempts.

That's relaying a very clear message, namely

    Stay away from MaxKVM!

Also kindly learn and accept that @jbiloh and the LET admins/mods are neither your errand boys nor your servants.

By the looks of it, that's not something @MaxKVM is willing to share.

They're more interested in the altered thread title, but that's not going to change anytime soon.

  • What would you like to know? We are working to keep our customers online, obviously. You are simply misleading them.

    I'd like:

    1. Timeline breakdown as to what failed when and what happened.
    2. Supporting screenshots of support tickets related to this event and previous event that may have contributed to this situation
    3. Plan moving forward and expected timelines if there are any
    4. Insight detailing how you plan on mitigating such failure or action/inaction including diversifying customer communication channels.

    Just some ideas.

    Also, take up @jar's offer.

@MaxKVM said: We are working to keep our customers online, obviously.

No one knows that, and why?

Because you've not communicated anything other than telling everyone to basically spam your upstream.

@MaxKVM said: You are simply misleading them.

You've mislead your own customers by being dramatic and asking them to contact your upstream.

  • Why do people on LET/LES think they work in this company?

you're doing a fantastic job destroying your brand, if people on LET/LES didn't deserve to have updates then why the fuck did you make this thread? Make it make sense.

It's a web forum, not a dick. Don't take it so hard. It's not like being a moderator of a forum has to have the strictest rules, ideally yes but ehh, it's LET. It's idealized as such. But at the end of the day, it's just dealing with the bs associated with. being a forum mod (PMs from people asking to join other forums, being called into like "Dad I need help" for any forum threads only to get bitched at if your action wasn't what most of the public supported or enjoyed but it was the most "fair", etc.).

@PieHasBeenEaten is a decent mod, just can be a bit brash at times or quick to judge. And yes part of that job posting is that you have to judge. You have to judge and then make a decision based on the information available to you. It's only when some people disagree with that judgement that you can complained at with "You're a servant to the board! You're not here to judge!"

People have different ways of approaching moderation. LET has never had real strict guidelines for their staff to make their judgements deterministic beyond "just don't be a huge huge dick" and staff members are given a ton of autonomy to judge freely.

Come on man. It's been like this for the longest time.

Except @vedran. That guy was the tits when he was on the mod team.

  • @MaxKVM said: Why do people on LET/LES think they work in this company?

You literally asked for our opinion and what we wanted to see. We gave it to you.

Also from the looks of it, it seems like your customers didn't receive any updates so they're still just going in blind?

Why ask us what we want to see if you're going to be hostile and complain?

I get your point and I'm not at all in any way against @PieHasBeenEaten ; he's generally a fine mod, agreed.
But the way he edited the title strongly (albeit probably correctly) suggests that @MaxKVM is basically belly up, and that IMO is too harsh. Slapping MaxKVM could be considered well deserved (certainly by myself) but pushing the knife deeper into someone goes too far. Btw, there are legal aspects too and that title edit might open very ugly cans of worms. So I suggest that PieHasBeenEaten at least turns it into a question (like so "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - TIME TO MOVE YOUR DATA FROM MaxKVM?")

Fair enough. I agree with your point on this. But also there are many other web forums and markets than LET. I don't think a title on LET changed to that matters much as LET doesn't really have that much of a strong impact on just with a title change.
