Hi!
Since the drama never ends, yesterday we were glad that the two processors were delivered to us but the joy quickly disappeared when those in the datacenter started to replace the old E5-2637 V3 with the new E5-2699 V3. The server simply did not boot and after some discussion with the seller I came to the conclusion that it may be due to 550W PSUs (a processor consumes 145W) and 800W PSUs were not in stock for testing.
That's how I came to order the second physical server on which to mount the new processors, the old one remaining as it is.
The new server will have:
Why did I tell you all this?
Because it would be nice to tell me what packages you would be interested in delivering from the new server (A couple of requirements - price would be ideal)
Best regards, Florin.
Enterprise ones (or at the very least "Pro" ones)? Do not get consumer ones, they'll wear out very quickly, and I'm serious.
I have come to look on your garden now the sun is out.
u know me, only if its Free.
Sometimes, it is nice when people see your gardan. Smell it pretty flower
It is good.
A budget tier would be nice, something to run wireguard/openvpn on.
edit: I realized you already have such a service
Didn't Hetzner use consumer SSDs and people were very happy with them (as long as replaced if bad)?
At the moment I am in doubt whether to take the EVO or Enterprise Datacenter (PM8xx) range.
From the experience with the current SSDs, two Samsung 860 EVO 1TB have already accumulated 9% wearout in just 6 months, but that still means that they will last almost 5 years while under warranty, which was somehow to be expected.
Warranty might not help you out if they see it was used in a server, or the like, but yeah, go for the Enterprise series (tried getting used ones?).
No, both plans involve new SSDs.
In the case of the PM8xx range, it costs around 22 cents per GB (210 euros for 960GB).
Well, look at this way, they'll probably be working in 10 years time, and you could rent out the server, with the original drives (this still happens; 146GB HDD SAS drives, etc)
I guess you need to make price recurring.
Some people tend to like recurring offers. Plan#1 25$ recurring vs Plan#2 15$/first year and 20$ after first year. Which plan would buyers pick up?
A little update.
I ordered both the new server and the storage for it.
In essence, the new hardware resources will be:
I'm still waiting for suggestions for packages that would interest you to sell KVM servers with dedicated resources
Hi @FlorinMarian!
Congrats on placing the orders!
Would it be too crazy to imagine a Low End Box article about the selection of the hardware, the selection of the vendors, the costs, and the expected time frame for delivery?
An example of a post something like what I am imagining might be this article: The Next Gen Database Servers Powering Let's Encrypt [2021].
Maybe something could be included about the colocation for the new server? Or maybe discussing the colocation might require enough material that an entire additional article might be needed?
I wish you good luck with the new server!
Tom
Hi, Tom!
It will definitely be a pleasure to come up with a new interview when everything is set up
(P.S. will probably last about 10 days because the people at Datacenter are Orthodox Christians and they are celebrating Easter next week.)
Sounds good @FlorinMarian! Thanks!

or all for free.
Free south AFRICA
Your plan sounds great, except for OVH.
In order to offer an OVH tunnel - Romania we would need a server with a guaranteed 1 Gbps public port or even 10Gbps the best effort, but how much did such a server cost at OVH, we could not cover our expenses with the addresses IP + monthly payment with only 256 IP addresses attached.
Thank you!
Your garden looks luscious and moist.
I just got the SSDs.
Apparently the seller gave us a present and sent us the Samsung PM893 instead of the PM883.
P.S. I have never held metal SSDs in my hand, they seem very heavy
What versions of windows do you offer? Is there an extra fee if yes do you allow to upload custom iso of my licensed windows? Also what is the smallest vps you would allow for windows on?
@yoursunny dang it - my plan wont sell at all with that price
Do you allow private seedbox?
I'll totally pay 8 push-ups per day for 16 vCPU and 40GB RAM.
It's a no-brainer.
Push-ups as payment method is greater than this question recently received..
1. Is the "VPS hosting" simple webhosting or Linux VPS with Root access ? 2. My bandwidth requirement is 300tb is that OK with your bandwidth plan? Thanks
Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
Can this offer be stacked?
Sun?
It's in the middle of my username.
