  • It takes so much time for me to READ every comment (I'm not really sure why read everyone, I guess I'll blame FrankZ... but i confess I admittedly I only skim through many :-D )

...that I don't get time to add any chirpy or quirky or motivational comments!

Uhm, so... the eggs of your chickens will be enjoyed the fastest if you are quiet.. too much noise in hen house makes the chickens go sad and they don't lay eggs! :-D

Don't need a tag to be a helpful member

I like the idea of a couple other tags.

Some thought: Can you allow users with provider tag to update their initial post? I think in situations like Virmach have, being able to update their initial post would be a significant help.

Yeah. Wonder why it's not editable from the very beginning.

Unfortunately editing after a set period of time is the same forum wide. We can't set different time limits based on user level due to a vanilla limitation.

Any reason for not allowing edits? It gets marked as edited so people know it was edited. People can quote the post or archive it themselves if it's an important message that could result in confusion if it's edited then that option is there.

Pretty much every modern site outside of maybe Twitter allows indefinite edits or removals.

I believe Musk wants edit on Twitter... so maybe we should consider it too. :)

Turn off your firewall/whitelist ICMP protocol.
or it's possibly blocked by your government if you're one of the MJJs.

San Jose offer is there for everyone. If Tokyo is not good enough for you right now, I'll move you to San Jose for free and move you back for free at a later time. Just don't get upset if you're not moved back within the day you ask. It will most likely be when the situation actually improves as I don't want to move people back only for them to complain again, and if too many people request it then obviously it will take more time to move back.

Since when did you offer free migration for promo VPS?
Is it just for him or anyone can request migration after provision?

  • Re. NL and migration (I didn't bring the subject up again).
If the long awaited (sitting patiently) 2GB Migration Special gets provisioned first, then I'll be happy moving my new Seattle to NYC, if possible ;)

Which OS? Try connect with VNC and see if there's any error code. Some OS templates are not compatible with Ryzen servers.

Debian11. It's offline so can't be connected with VNC.

Is this installed via template or iso?

If install via iso make sure you don't boot into cd

I'm just offering it since we have room in San Jose right now. I'd rather move someone who can't wait for networking to naturally improve, it gives more breathing room to everyone else on the node for now too. Versus them constantly testing network speed.

    That's nice to hear.
How long are you going to offer this free migration service?
    It can't be forever right?

Hybula's looking glass is pretty decent. Are you going to set up in the near future, for all available locations?
I might move out of Tokyo if there're too many noisy neighbors.

    1. I only issued a ticket after I checked the problem.
    2. Chinese is for you.
    3. After purchasing the VIR, I have not sent a ticket to urge it.

Did you install any OS template or Mount ISO after the service is initially provisioned? If not, you need to do that because the purchase OS option is "Install later"

    system already installed

Tried VNC? It should tell you something if you connect to VNC immediately after rebooting the service.

You opened a ticket for your own ignorance. What makes you think your emperor/boss? has the time to solve your own problem.
Did you boot up your VPS successfully. Do you know what's ICMP?
If you don't have any idea why would you assume others do?

    and what's Chinese for me?

The more I look through your PMS the more I'm thinking of a HostHatch PMSing thread that spans two years and then I opened your profile. Yep. It's it you, JJJJ.

and I took the liberty of ping-ing on ping.pe
45.66.128.1 is totally fine. so I assume any IP in 45.66.128.0/24 is not blocked either.
It's highly likely your VPS did not boot up correctly or ICMP is blocked as I just said.
Do your due diligence instead of spamming ticket/comments and only then can people/boss actually help you.

Don't use the html5 VNC in SolusVM. Use TightVNC or a similar VNC program to connect to your VPS.

Debian11. It's offline so can't be connected with VNC.

In some cases, the following steps will resolve the issue.

    • Install the Almalinux template image
    • Check that Almalinux is working
    • Mount the netboot.xyz ISO from the SolusVM panel
    • Change boot order (CDROM is preferred)
    • Press the reboot button on the panel
    • Check that the status is "online"
    • Connect to the VPS via VNC (recommend using a VNC client app instead of html5VNC)
    • Check that netboot.xyz is loaded
    • Install the OS of your choice (if RAM is a low, some OSs may fail to install)
    • Unmount the ISO and restore the boot order settings
    • Press the reboot button on the panel

    (edit)
If you cannot install Debian 11 directly, you can try to install Debian 10 first and then upgrade.

My VPS is not deployed yet. but I suppose Debian 11 net install would work as I successfully installed it on a decades old 256MB KVM VPS last year. Just remember to uncheck all unnecessary bloatware standard system utilities other than OpenSSH.

Technically it should work, but it might be good to have a fallback option.
In any case, I'll be glad when their issue is resolved and the ticket is closed (before VirMach checks it).
