iHostArt node suddenly down
Anyone here using iHostArt ? (ihostart.com)
Being using that service for about a year without major issues (they had some DDoS during the last month but nothing serious). Payed monthly because they are very cheap and I've always distrusted their service. Since Apr 6th my node went down, so I contacted support. They said that the issue will be solved they were doing migrations, but since today I can't even login to the webpage cpanel, it always redirects me to the index when I click "Login". It's been 48hs which is a-lot of downtime even being as permissive as I was.
Also as a request if anyone knows an alternative, I was paying 4€ for the following specs:
KVM based.
1 GB RAM
2 vCPUs (very cheap ones)
1 Gbps link with 8 TB bandwidth
1 TB disk
DMCA-free
Want something similar, max budget 7€. I'm ok with unreliable services as long as they don't bail as this guy.
Thanks

@Calin is banned on this forum due to the shady nature of his business.
No, he is not banned.
@stevewatson301 Oh didn't know that. But I'm ok with nearly home-made VPSs, its just a seedbox. As long as they can be honest and tell me that they can't provide the service anymore I'm ok. Anyway if someone has an alternative I'll move there. I remember using NOVOS too they were amazing but disappeared too.
@Calin whats happening with the nodes?
@gonzas144 What can be expected from person who have a wooden rack and add a RAM by adding SWAP on the cheapest SSD drives ...
Your server is probably here:

Here you can see what your RAM looks like:

I wouldn't really expect an answer from him any time soon.
I really don't care that much. I know what I'm paying for. I just wanted an update and check if there is something similar as iHostArt in the market to be able to switch if Calin can't provide the service anymore.
Hello, we have received a lot of new customers due to fluxnodes and due to several causes, we have raised enough money to move to a new location with servers, and that is why these downtimes happen, we hope that by tomorrow or the day after we solve this problem, we apologize for this downtime.
Recently due to very high demand and because I no longer have the physical space to put the servers, I ended up renting dedicated servers to meet the demand, until everything will be moved to the new location.
Seems like Jon unbanned him again. "Second chances" smh
You cannot discuss hosting providers who have not paid the LET tax. Please take this discussion elsewhere.
I'm ok with that! Please next time do an announcement if there is going to be that much downtime.
Thanks!
@jbiloh please close this topic , and @gonzas144 sorry for downtime
So @calin and @Fast22 is the same person.
Actually I'm not sure why this user was unbanned. According to our logging system I last banned them:

Well, you have @Fast22 to ban too, if you needed more reasons!
Also it's obvious that @Fast22 is @Calin so attempt at ban evasion?
I'm fine with the ban, I made this account just to look for a cheap dedicated server solution for rent, and I found it, you can visit my topic
It doesn't work that way, you bellend.
Well they both can have an identical red-colored profile picture then.
IDK why he doxxed himself he could just have sent me a PM.
Another feckin' scammer.
"how to be shady yet dumb 101"
Frantech is a great alternative for around 7 euro if you find them in stock.
Seeing a 2980 still in use is art. Now how he managed to not have the rack catch on fire is top level.
The real question here is if he installed the actual RAM upside down too
Node is working now so issue has been solved
Frantech is BuyVM right? The cheapest one they have is Storage 250 which is 750 GB less than what I currently have and it nearly costs double.
I would have made a fortune from my garbage-assembled hosting business had anybody told me the barrier of entry is so low.
Only in Romania
1TB slab (block storage) at BuyVM is $5/month
1GB Ryzen VPS at BuyVM is $3.50/month
Total cost: $8.50/month
Their website is out of date, they don't sell purely storage based VPS's anymore. Block storage shows up as an additional disk, so it's easy to use/setup. You can install the OS on NVMe and then store all of your files on the block storage
Thats great! Ill consider BuyVM. But its still double the price than ihostart and they have nodes in the USA,. I don't see them very DMCA friendly
