Two solid central US locations are Dallas, Texas or Chicago, Illinois.
The US is massive so it's pretty hard to give a definitive answer
Probably Ashburn, VA.
In fact, I was also wondering this question before, which location most user prefer. But base on the past years we see, alot of people don't really care which state, as long as within their budget, their just go for it.
Mexico.
Chicago would be my number one pick, Dallas number two.
Chicago would provide about <60ms to the 48 states plus Canada including <35ms to 60% of the population, according to https://wondernetwork.com/pings/Chicago
Dallas would average a little slower, but likely cheaper.
Starlink
As everyone else has said Dallas, and Chicago would be my suggestions as well.
If my visitors are mainly from the U.S., Dallas is my preferred location too.
It really depends on the provider and the peering.
For example - Softlayer Washington DC location is about as good as it gets for the entire US. But pricing is also pretty steep and way out of LE budget.
But in general most providers out of Chicago would give you the best latency towards most of the US.
If you also have people south of the border - then Dallas would be a better choice.
It's hard to answer.
Ashburn is arguably the best location to serve the USA population.
Ashburn
Right Dallas and Chicago are the most central hubs.
Best overall latency to all of the USA by population: Illinois.
East coast has more population than west coast, so that Chicago is a good choice.
New York would be too far from west coast.
Best overall latency to all of the USA by area: Utah.
USA also includes Hawaii and Alaska; Alaska is the biggest state by area.
Thus, you deploy closer to the west coast location.
Ashburn, Dallas
I'm genuinely curious why there's multiple votes for Ashburn when it's way too eastern US?
cuz the usa govt has invested heavily in that areas network. wonder why cough cough wink wink
Routing & peering, since most of the world's internet traffic routes through Ashburn, Virginia. (Sources https://digitaltech.com/data-center-alley-why-70-of-internet-traffic-flows-through-ashburn-virginia/ and https://www.voanews.com/a/usa_all-about-america_heres-where-internet-actually-lives/6184090.html ) I agree it's a solid choice for reliable low-latency. Pings from there: https://wondernetwork.com/pings/Washington
Asburn have good lattency to all area in us
Data centers of number most city:
I vote for Dallas.

Dallas > Ashburn
Alaska or Hawaii
To serve exclusively the US, Dallas is probably your best bet but as others mention Chicago is probably a great choice also.
If you want to serve the EU as well you can try Ashburn, however that will harm your west coast audience.
Forgot Chicago with 2nd best result of 81.
This is my manual calculation, so there will be omissions, thank you for the correction.
Corrected
What location will you guys suggest out of Ashburn (east) & Chicago (mid west) if I already have 2 VPS at Los Angeles (west)?
US = Dallas
EU = New York
AU/NZ = Los Angeles
I vote for Chicago.
