Yep, that pic from 2014 when they impact into Donbass. That why people from this area still hate Ukraine. They betrayed their fathers. Western mass media trying to hide it.
I was expect entries about - photoshop - but is was real. Germans make movie about Ukrainian neo-nazi with SS symbols on helmets. You can research it on YouTube.

@elliotc said: My guess is most of the sanctions will keep at least 5 years. Until Russia is no longer possible to start another war.

Sanctions started in 1918 and continued for more than 104 years. So no surprises.
Belarus under sanctions over 30 years But still alive. So you really waste time for push your desires here.

Anyway, I am not the one who suffers from sanctions directly. I am not saying you will disappear, Russia has energy and food after all. Just another collapse like that many times after 1918. I'm just telling you that if you feel bad in the future, be optimistic, because future can only get worse.

No worries. We can live without you. World is much bigger that your part. And they will wake up after these events.

  • @TheJohnDoe said: There's no other "simple" way for the gov to shut down

No, the internet is designed to be a distributed system. But it is a lot easier for govts than you make it sound. A number of countries have done so in the past, please look it up.

  • Fyi, I know how it feels when the environment will move downward for the foreseeable future because I am in such situation. It is just your's will be more fast. You may not believe it, but I have no ill will towards you personally when I am talking about moneys. The world has become different, I need to find a way out not only for myself, but for my family.

  • @elliotc said: Anyway, I am not the one who suffers from sanctions directly

Our ancestors have always kept you away. I don't think anything will change.

  • Russia says its businesses can steal patents from anyone in ‘unfriendly’ countries
Russia has effectively legalized patent theft from anyone affiliated with countries “unfriendly” to it, declaring that unauthorized use will not be compensated.

  • @farsighter said: Russia says its businesses can steal patents from anyone in ‘unfriendly’ countries

Ah well, we know about ,,patents wars,, in United States. Good capitalism innovation for pull out competitors. So no surprises.

Just hope you will not lost patent for own life.

  • photoshop live matter
no one care for making peace
…. will resolve itself, if there is a balance of power between the parties
    yes, russia has power
not like Iraq that was crushed to the ground
and now, regionalism is trending in political theory …..

If you disconnect from global internet, how do you access information in global internet?

@serv_ee said: Considering Intel, AMD AND TSMC all dropped Russia you should really start worrying about that instead of our bills. If you haven't heard already the the EU is already in talks with Qatar and Alžerija for gas and the Saudis are ramping up oil production.

Dude, no one here cares about Apple, Intel, AMD and other overpriced goods. I prefer if Apple GTFO and never returns.

Lol, you are dense. Speak for yourself.

We have a lot of Chinese manufacturers here such a Huawei or Xiaomi who replace them in full for much lower prices for their products.

You realize that they don't innovate, they steal? They won't lead the fucking World in anything but being thieves.

For Intel, AMD and others there a big black market still exist, also huge marked of previosly used hardware. So not not a problem buy these things.

And get overpowered by everyone else that advances year over year very easily and more and more over time.

He might have a point there, at my previous job I had an old guy who was tasked with reverse engineering AMD 4bit CPU and make clones for the Romanian industry.
I get it that is no longer an option, but industrial espionage will always work. It will be impossible to impose IP rights and/or block Chinese products from being sold or even smuggled into Russia.
Yes, they might have them a few months after release, but the army and all militaro-industrial complex will have the necessary electronics. An embargo like that won't work.
It works a bit with Huawei's civilian arm/consumer products because China enforces a bit of IP rights, they would be cut off too if they wouldn't, but Russia, already cutoff, wont care.

It's March 12 and I just ssh'd (from central/western Europe) into multiple VPS I have in Russia and also surfed russian web-sites.

So much for those rumours. Titel should be changed to

"Russia not disconnected from global internet on March 11"
