Hello,
Based on Sibyl's involvement with Terrahost from their very beginning, Epik has earlier this year acquired a stake in Terrahost.
Nothing has changed, and nothing is going to change for our clients, and Epik's interest in Terrahost has been talent and technology acquisition only. For instance our in-house developed ENIGMA panel.
Terrahost will remain as-is with the same core values as we've always had.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to raise a ticket with us.
Based on the wording of the email from Epik, it seems like a full acquisition.
Can you clarify whether you are still independently operating with them as a shareholder with minority board seats / voting power or whether you are now fully controlled by Epik? So will you have full say in what you do, or will you have to listen to Epik without the ability to override their decisions?
And also, when you say:
This makes it seem like an acquihire where you are 100% bought out, as I've never seen a company only acquire a minority stake but also take over talent and technology.
In any case, thanks for the clarification and congrats on this. This is a major milestone for you! Congrats
Oh, wow
This is just the tip of the iceberg.
As the cherry on the pie: AS58110 IP Volume Ltd Switzerland with domain ipvolume.org, on which EPIK.com is hosted.
On the FSIX exchange in Norway and MICE in US
And for who doesn't know "IP Volume" or doesn't think it is the same one: The textual homepage for both companies look "very" similar (the other one is ipvolume.net)
Merry christmas.
So terrahost is affiliated with ecatel?
That's nice.
No no no, I really liked my VPS's at Terrahost.
Interesting, I assume Terrahost.com is the new website?
https://terrahost.com/
With "Containerized Datacenters"!

Interesting!
yeah, and you were so proud of this great change that you just forgot to announce it on LET
like I would read cociu/jsg statements that everything ok, nothing wrong, keep buying 3yr credits...
Epik fail

The timeline ends at 2019, I wonder why.
The end is nigh.
maybe this is the moment when they started cooperation with Involucrated Solutions ®™
Wow, just wow. Time to move away.
How long has Epik been involved with TerraHost? Since before or after their data breach?
That doesn't sound good.
I presume no Christmas promo this time round?
I don't like the direction they are advertising Terrahost. Underground bunker hosting attracts the wrong kind of customers. Sad to see them go this direction since they were a real gem.
EPIK in general attracts the wrong kind of customers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epik_(company)
Sad to see Terrahost go down this path, will make an effort to avoid their services from now on. Shame, they were honestly a fantastic host.
That smells. "a stake" as in "oh, 12.5%" or as in "terrahost is now majority owned by Epik"?
Do you have a problem with the way the company operates specifically? At random I came across a hit piece on Rob Monster on CNN which makes me believe this is political.
Based on the transcript it doesn't seem like it's just "a stake". What Rob Monster said sounds authoritative. He likely has the final say.
They now have Terrahost in Europe. United States next if not already.
It's a no brainer that Rob and Epik has the veto power.

Not the heckin domainerinos! They need to go!
Its literally a hit piece.
I define a hit piece as a publication specifically designed to damage the reputation of a specific entity.
Should far right websites not exist? Communist websites exist.
And what percentage of the domains and websites they host far right?
The verbal gymnastics is a bit much. As far as I know, no host the size of Terrahost has its 'talent and technology' acquired. Either way, over the years what is obvious is this:
It has been years since I touched a budget host and Terrahost was one them. I'll go back to avoiding LEB hosts except for BuyVM and stick to Hetzner, GCP or Azure. The market before was full of fly by night hosts, now it's full of budget hosts that quite frankly don't offer much other than marketing in LEB vs more established players.
The problem is not freedom of speech. The problem is data breaches of Epik in the past which makes it problematic with trust, and the secrecy of this migration. It would have been better to hear it in advance, from Terrahost, as valued customers that we should have been. But no, we hear it from a surprise email of Epik.
