Same here, I've been buying VirMach specials since 2018, and I've definitely gotten more use out of my special offer purchases than flash sales. I've gotten some great flash sales, but for not much more at all the special offers are usually well-rounded and you can actually pick the best location for you. I usually grab something from special offers and then try to beat it in flash sales, this year with only 4 in San Jose none of them beat the special I picked up there. We had a few more in LA, but I missed the $24.95 deal, and nothing had anywhere near the 100gb storage of the top offer.

Were biennial discounts a new thing this year? I don't remember the option in years past, I was just breaking down the pricing on everything I bought and realized the two specials I got ended up better deals than I originally thought.

If you'd like to hear the story of how I got there, I have a server in Chicago on ServerCheap with unlimited bandwidth for $20/yr which I originally intended to use as a VPN but Google mistakenly thinks the IP is located in Puerto Rico, so no matter what I search for, I get articles about Manny Pacquiao, and it's all in Tagalog instead of English. So I ended up making that an email server, which has served me well for about 5 years, but it's getting long in the tooth, it occasionally gets blacklisted by noisy neighbors and I'd also like to have a backup.
Over the past decade I've also had VPSes with over a dozen other companies, in many different locations, which I used for VPNs, many of which deadpooled. Last year I set up several VPSes with VirMach, DediPath, HostNamaste, and others, in all different cities as VPNs, and a web server on VirMach in Dallas which performed beautifully, but I accidentally forgot to update my payment method when my debit card expired and it got deleted one day before I noticed the unpaid invoice (sigh). So now I have to setup a new web server too.
This year, I'm letting most of my VPN VPSes go, as I'm not using VPNs as much as I used to now that Apple devices provide their own built in VPN-like shielding and I also switched to Unlimited on my cell phone, and I'm now using that as a hotspot rather than using public wifi anymore. This BF, after failing to acquire any of the Legendary offers in the Megathread, I signed up for a RackNerd VPS in Dallas with the bandwidth doubled to 8TB/mo, thinking it might serve well as a new email server, but then when I checked the IP I was assigned, I was disappointed to learn that the ENTIRE RackNerd IP-space is blacklisted due to rampant spam. So basically RN is unsuitable for any type of email server, no matter if it's just for light duty personal use.
Then, I signed up for the Reprise Hosting $25.97/mo dedicated server offer on LowEndBox, and I was pleased to see that the IPs are totally clean, but I'm disappointed that they don't seem to provide any access to stats. They also emailed my own chosen password back to me in plain text, which is pointless and harmful. Overall, not impressed and cancelling that service.
In the end, although I let 3 other small VirMach servers expire this year, I ended up replacing them with 3 other VirMach products: a $4.95/yr tiny VPS that I may eventually use to test a custom ISO, a $34.24/yr VPS that's whopping big on CPU & bandwidth but not on HDD space, and now this Dedicated Server with 1TB disk which works out to $19.50 per month, which I'll turn into my main server and try to grow into it enough to actually justify the price for once.
TL;DR: I spent nearly $300 at VirMach this week, because the service quality is worth it.

I've been stalking it regularly hoping an LA dedi might restock, if there was one at the start of the sale I was too slow. Everyone was jumping on the KS-LE dedi deal but that 100mbit just won't do, this isn't 2015. VirMach isn't the best service I have, but it's been one of the best values, and generally consistent.
