The bus for page 101 is all yours
I hope not!
Houston, TX, USA
Now I know why RN is better, VirMach just didn't put in enough efforts for the hype, and expect us to hype ourselves

I thought it was just me but +1 to what Deal Compiler Extraordinaire just said
Well, I did hype myself quite a bit this week...

VirMach BF thread - 39.6K views 2.4K comments
The contrast is stark.
I have been a failure at pumping this thread, sad.
what epic deals did RN make? totally missed them out.
Nope it isn't your fault, you can't expect things to get hyped itself when the provider didn't put in enough efforts.
The communication issue, technical issues, or very long delay in everything and ticket response is not the first time they happened, there's some things fundamentally need to be fixed if VirMach wants to keep its position.
There's only so much we can do as a fan, and we can't be pushing it forever.

Larger disk please
bot is going on 10GB mode
This year in general no one matched the level of BF expectations, even the hype level of RN in 2020 was much much more crazier than 2021. I'm still RN biggest fan though.
I guess it's time for someone else to step up this year..
Looks like the bot is all about the minimums...
at least this year humans can still get deals since mjj bots have flocked over to RN and NY isnt the best location for them.
They had a large number of giveaways in the thread, which is the main thing that hyped people up and kept them coming back (since they were spaced out over a larger time period). They were literally giving away free money at one point (something like "the next 5 comments that comment with '# ......' will receive $5 via Venmo")
Edit: And of course, they do that "comment with your invoice number to double your bandwidth" thing, so half the comments are just invoice numbers.
Giving multiple RTX 3060 and 2TB NVMe are actually very good prizes. If they spent more time on designing this giveaway it will bring much more attention, hypes and views than what we have now. Even better, if he talks to me beforehand we can even make it an official LET giveaway event.
Look at the winners of those big prizes, did they contribute a lot to the thread and stick around to bring hype? Not really. Giving those big prizes at the early stage of the thread will also make people less motivated to join.
If support or manpower is an issue, why not spend the money on hiring someone for a month (instead of spending those on prizes)? In this way they can clear their ticket queue and are good to go again without all the huge backlog.
I don't know man, I really don't know what VirMach is thinking.
personally not interested in giveaways, prefer paid quality BF deals, but interesting this year most providers do giveaways to compensate for higher priced deals.
its inevitable but glad to have snagged storage deals with new low at LE.

@FAT32 & my girlfriend @Nekki thread - at least 200 servers sold, 47 comments per sale

yoursunny service transfer thread - 1 server sold, 60 comments per sale
I really love HostHatch's sale threads for exactly this reason. No "comment with your invoice number" comment spam like in RackNerd's threads, just really amazing VPS deals, and the occasional flash sales.
RackNerd's deals are okay, but not as good as VirMach or HostHatch, plus very often their Black Friday deals are still valid weeks afterwards, even though they don't directly link to them any more (meaning there's less reason to rush and grab them on Black Friday). As I write this, their Black Friday sale links are still active.
I think the wheel spinning VirMach is doing is pretty unique - I loved watching several of those videos. VirMach also has some really fantastic prizes in giveaways.
The VirMach threads last longer than the RackNerd threads though... The VirMach 2018 thread only died off recently, for whatever reason.
@cybertech @FAT32
I have to Agree with both of you on this.
Less/no giveaways, but more competitive deals and higher quality support/service is more preferable to us end-users.

Quality is better than quantity, not?
Never too late. Come on, we can do this!
Keep 10GB out
The offers have tanked to low disk space!!
