@rahulks if u want to compare how INR stands, i can give comparisons from 2 south-asian countries -developed & developing :
Singapore - in 1999-2000, 1 SGD = 25 INR
Thailand - in 2001-2002, 1 THB = 1.2 INR
Now,
Singapore - 1 SGD = 49.75 INR
Thailand - 1 THB = 2 INR

$1 is $1 here, but realistically speaking, $1 is worth about $2-10 in labor costs compared to the mainland U.S. and maybe about $0.60 when purchasing goods.
Island economies can be both heaven and hell: ~10% tax, $20/hr full-body massage, $5.05/gallon of gas, $500/mo residential utility bill...

Well its roughly £0.60p in the UK so to put that in perspective £0.60p would not be enough to buy a can of pepsi, a branded packet of crisps (potato chips) it may actually buy 1 large potato at the store, lemons at the local store are £0.65
So really not worth very much in real terms.
Here can get 2 Kg of potatoes
1 Kg of lemons is some 2 $ here. Will be cheaper later, though.

It's about 5.64 HRK which is quite low as it used to be about 6.10 last year. Since a great deal of my income is in USD it makes me quite unhappy.
Just now at the store I saw promotion of Spire/Coca-Cola/Pepsi, ~0.90 USD for the 1.5L bottle. Normally about 1.30 USD.
@vedran yes, the BGN was fixed to the DEM with 1:1 exchange rate. But when Germany stopped using the DEM and started using the EUR, we are now tied to the EUR.
This is why I end up with so many low end VPS, with plans costing from 60p a month up to about £4.50, I only have to miss one cup of coffee per week to cover the cost of everything!
Depends where you go shopping I guess, last time I bought a 500ml bottle of Pepsi in town it cost me 39p

No, not very high, it does not float much either (just 'forex range') - HK is more depending on CNY (RMB) exchange rates than USD now.
USD is not much used in public, HKD is stable and popular - Macao has more USD in cash (as, unlike in Vegas or Monaco, Casinos in Macao don't give a sh*t where the 50mil US$ in cash in your bag are from)
Food is cheap, power/gas is average/cheap, space is very expensive in HK/MO.
1USD are 0,73€ for me. Very low.

Yup, and I suppose there is a lesson here too, while it may seem petty and annoying sometimes when someone is paying $3 p/month for a VPS to expect WAY more than is offered with it from their perspective that price may mean having to give something more significant up then a lemon, or a cup of coffee.

it is around Php 42-43 from where I am. It used to be 50+ when I was in grade school.
most important thing is what a value for 1 usd in you country, for me with 1 usd i can get a "nasi bungkus " only

I live in a place with a lot of expats - mostly canadians and aussies, some american - and almost each time they talk about money, they kept wishing the US go down so they can get more of their pension. ^_^

well thats the real one, for a diesel car its about $10 p/gallon now in the UK.
Didn't the UK stop using the gallon in 1995 and switched to metric system (eg. litres)?
I'm in the US. US currency always seems weak to me for some reason :-)
